    Hey boss,

    welcome to TW....

i would use the search option pretty quickly. Some of these boys and girls will jump on this thread to post your premature posting.

There are plenty of guys with CBs, and plenty of threads with their setups... hell check out my build...

    Cheers

Ya man there are TONS of people and A LOT of info here on this topic. Search it and read :D People love Firestix or whatever that brand is and most people place it in the railing in the bed right after the cab.

    FWIW

I keep two FRS radios in my truck for quick communication with friends when we're hitting up trails or just road-tripping. For any emergency communication, besides my cell phone, I got my ham radio license and keep a handheld ham radio in the truck. Cbs are great for local purposes. I may eventually get one.

    OP,

It depends on how big the radio is. I have a full size Cobra with built in freq counter and I had to put it on top of the dash, directlly above the stereo.

I have the reg cab bench too. I had it wedged between the trans hump on passenger side but got sick of looking at it there and sideways at that.

If you end up getting one of those Cobra 75 radios to save space, just keep in mind if the mic/radio cord on that 75 gets screwed up you'll loose use of the radio, not just the mic. With any other type of radio, especially with a 4 pin mic, you can just throw in another mic and get the broken mic cord fixed, instead of having the cord fixed on the 75 to get your radio working again.
