8" Kicker CVT behind rear seats

Here is a box going into my buddies 2008 Tacoma Double Cab.

Looking at all of the other boxes, install involved cutting or completely removing the cargo bins behind the rear seats.

We decided to go a different route. I left the drivers side cargo bin with another friend who used to manage a car stereo shop. A few days later, and this is what he came up with. Its a Kicker 8" CVT 2 ohm sub running off an older Kicker KX400.1 that is under the drivers seat.

The only mods done to the truck for this are a hole for the speaker wire in the cargo bin and cutting off the child's seat hoop behind the drivers rear seat.

Its being called "The eyeball box" because of its look before the carpet.

15 different pieces not including the internal bracing.

It's 1/4" MDF with a layer of fiberglass over it all.

 

Okay, latest addition is going to be an Arc Audio XXD2080 amp under the passenger seats powering JL Audio XR650-CSi's in the front doors with the Taco Tunes mounting kits.

Anyone have any tips on where the JL crossovers can be easily hidden?

I think that should do it for decent sound in this truck. It already has a JBL head unit with the built in ipod controller and additional steering wheel control module added on.

Although, the guy who owns the truck wants it to sound like mine eventually, and I'm running a 10W7 sealed in an extended can Ranger on a JL 500/1, so who knows what the final result will end up being.
