let it be noted that that toyota was freakin FIERCE and the chevy was the only (other) on that made it further than the halfway mark.

the driveshaft broke on an F250? aren't those supposed to be pretty freakin stout?
and to be fair . . the ginger was REALLY fucking hard on that dodge. either way, YOTA FTW!

Not entirely accurate. Many of the parts are made here, as well as over seas. Much like the domestic manufactures. Example: The engines are made in the USA, while many of the electronics (Denso for example) are made in the same plants that Denso makes Chevy parts for. Wire harnesses are made here in the :oldglory: just like the Domestics. In fact, More money from a Toyota STAYS in the US as opposed to the Big 3 trucks. :)

I realize that and know that no vehicle is 100% US made. I come from a union town. And those people can be ornery about things!! I remember one guy who was adamant that his Dodge Ram was American and wouldn't hear that it was assembled in Mexico...it was still an American truck to him. The parts to make the truck came from the US so the truck was too. But a Toy was complete garbage!

Yeah....Funny thing about those Dodges'.....More parts for them are outsourced to other countries than the Toyotas. IIRC, the Tacomas have a 95% USA parts content, while the best of the Chevy/Ford/Dodge vehicles have (IIRC) a 73% USA parts content. Ford being the worst. AND, The Tacomas were made by UAW workers at the plant in CA.

It is to a damn HILUX!!!!! Hilux was the name of the trucks prior to the Tacoma! There is no "Pick up", there is no "Toyota Truck" It is a HILUX!!! HILUX was used around the world and NORTH AMERICA until the introduction of the Tacoma in 1995.5 in which only in North America did the name change!

Read up on your Toyota history! I bet you think the Tacoma was named after the city Tacoma too!

No, the Hilux was the name of the Toyota Trucks prior to the introduction of the Tacoma. Diesel or not it was a Hilux if it wasn't a Tacoma before 1995.

Panties aren't in a bunch but if you are going to be adamant about it not being a Hilux...

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
The Hilux name was dropped in AMERICA in 1975. Everything after that was a Pickup or a Truck. You can call it a Hilux if it makes you sleep better at night, but none of the owners manuals, sales slips, titles, ads, etc. refer to the them as a Hilux in America. Nor were they badged as Hiluxes.

    :p

I apologize, I was a little cranky lastnight after I did my taxes. What I was expecting turned into what I owe the Feds...
