After looking at the 3" uca + C/O packages I'm pretty sure im just going to save up and go LT. I plan on taking the truck to explore the desert and I would rather invest in a better suspension than just lift the truck. Haven't decided on which particular kits yet however I'm trying to work out some logistical issues due to this needing to be a Daily Driver.

I keep reading that LT kits are loud? Is this due to the Heims vs bushings?

Can you install the rear LT first if necessary?

Can you run LT with stock rims & tires temporarily?

Besides reinforcing the spindles, uca mounts, and the C/O mounts in the front is there anything else to beef up?

In the rear is bed cage sufficient reinforcement for the rear?

What kind of extra maintenance is necessary on LTs? Anything wear out faster now that its LT?

And drivetrain components. What needs to happen to the driveshaft?

Thanks in advance and apologies if I missed obvious answers.

Make sure you carry spare parts and lots of tools and try to avoid exploring alone.

Bushings squeak when they aren't properly grease

Yes it actually performs better than the other way around

Can you run LT with stock rims & tires temporarily?

    Yes with small wheel spacers

Besides reinforcing the spindles, uca mounts, and the C/O mounts in the front is there anything else to beef up?

You can beef up the lower control arm tab as well

In the rear is bed cage sufficient reinforcement for the rear?

It depends what your doing with the truck but I think for a weekend warrior (not racing) boxing the frame isn't fully necessary

What kind of extra maintenance is necessary on LTs? Anything wear out faster now that its LT?

    Uni-balls, bushings, and coils wear

And drivetrain components. What needs to happen to the driveshaft?

Drive shaft has to be shortened and slip yoke added due to the amount of axle plunge at full stuff

Thanks in advance and apologies if I missed obvious answers.

    No problem! [IMG]

So kinda funny that the first search result for "tacoma lt driveshaft" is this OP...

Would getting the upgraded driveshaft and sye need to be done before or during the rear LT install? could it wait till after the LT is installed?

The Lower Control Arm tabs... where the shock meets the LCA or where the LCA meets the frame?

Would stock wheels would need to be spaced out to be the equivalent of 4.5" of BS? or is there another way to gauge how far they need to go.

The open wheel wells created by the front bumper and the fiberglass fenders, combined with the aggressive tread tires, make my truck so loud that I've had friends call me and ask "what the hell is all that noise in the background?"

Same here, My exhaust is far louder than tires.

Suspension is squeaky though just like everybody else.

The easiest way to fix the noise is just to turn up the Stereo a little

I cannot hear anything over my exhaust. I don't think LT is loud at all...when you are offroading, your whole truck is making all kinds of noises lol.
