I met a man who rode one because he was in an accident and couldn't ride a motorcycle anymore. His leg was all messed up, but since the Spyder was able to hold a cane he rides it. Closest thing to a motorcycle he'll ever ride again.

Honestly, I'll probably stick with my Katana. I've purchased some luggage that sits where the passenger would sit and another bag on the tank so I can pack quite a bit if needed. I was more looking for opinions on it because it seemed like something different, a little unique and I was hoping it'd be fun to drive. Sounds like it's a dog though. For what I need, the Katana is about as good as it gets. It's got a sportier motor (I've got a stage 1 kit and Yoshi exhaust), the 750 has plenty of torque, comfy for 2-up riding, still light enough to throw around, although a little heavy it's still small enough for the city and powerful enough and geared right for long distance cruising.

I have 2 Spyders and they're a blast to ride. I also have an R6 which is also fun but no where near the enjoyment of the Spyder. The Spyder isn't as fast as an R6 or any crotch rocket but it'll destroy pretty much every touring bike out there. You can ride for miles with out getting having to take breaks. you can ride in the rain, snow and gravel without issue. They're not a motorcycle and shouldn't really be compared with one. 0-60 is 4 seconds is by no means a slouch. They're unique and they stop traffic every where you go. For the guy coming off a bike will have a learning curve with it. The guy coming off atv, snowmobile will be right at home on it. Mine are the Phantom Edition models. Only 500 made

I live near the plant where they're made so we have a pretty big following up here.
