Here are the instructions to disable / enable the "beep-beep" when using the key fob. It works on the 2009s as well.

    From jmed99:
    (a) Open the driver side door and insert the key into the ignition cylinder.
    (b) Remove the key from the ignition cylinder and, within 5 seconds, reinsert the key and turn the ignition switch to ON.
    (c) After 10 seconds, the system enters answer-back buzzer switching mode.
    (d) Within 10 seconds after answer-back buzzer switching mode is started, if a transmitter button (the same button) is pressed twice, the answer-back buzzer setting changes (off to on, or on to off) to activate or disable answer-back by buzzer.

Will do the seatbelt one pretty soon.

With the last trip out west driving on dirt roads at slow speeds the insistent beeping was terrible.

Or, once for driver, twice for everything. I hate having to hit the button eighteen times just to let the wife into the passenger side. By the time I do, the door handle's probably been ripped off.

The one day coming home from the carwash (winter time in Western PA, need it to get the gunk off), I foolishly decided to shit around, so I made a fist and shoved the passenger seat down. Truck started yelling at me so at 55MPH I had to reach over and click the seat belt in.

Ya I'd love more programming 'easter egg' type things.

In my crappy work Ford minivan, I've managed to disable the seatbelt chimes, and crappy traction control system which simply detunes the engine power if you spin your wheels.

    Much nicer!
