Cooper Discoverer STT's

Anyone had any experience with them? I have heard they don't have much tread life but that was with heavy 3/4 ton trucks. I was just looking for a good off road tire with decent road manners.

 

There really nice. A friend has them on her yota and they do damn fine. I have the st's on mine and happy with them.

 

my buddy has 35s one his f -150 they go BA in the mud but on the road they arnt so good and he has had them for a couple months now and its allready down to half life if ur going to be on the road most the time find a diffrent tire.or u can be like me and just like the look of a mud tire but that will cost ya

 

I had them for a while. Great looking tire and had great traction. I realized I didn't need a MT so I went down to an All Terrain. I had 285/70/17 and they rubbed on 2.5" of lift, so I think I was just getting annoyed with the contant rubbing. Wasn't bad on the highway actually.

I'd look into the BFG KM2s. All the guys say they have great road manners.

 

I had them on my 2005:



1) Great LOOKING
2) Great Mud Performance
3) Long life (lasted more miles than any tire so far on my 3 Tacomas)
but,
4) VERY loud on the highway
5) Terrible in sand (renamed them grave diggers).

Replaced them with Toyo Open Country AT, very happy with them... quiet, great in sand, just no 'cool look'...

 

Those pictures look great! I love the looks of them but I'm afraid they'll wear down too quick since i only drive gravel and off road occasionally.

 

As do I, and they lasted the longest of the tires I have had on my 3 Tacomas... It is the loud hum they give on the highway that would keep me from getting them again (1) and the poor sand performance (2).

Here is about when I would replace tires, because the amount of tread is down too low and flats would be the next issue, if not replaced:

BFG Rugged Trail TAs: 25,000 miles
Futura (Definity) Dakotas: 25,000
Cooper Discoverer STTs: 40-45,000
Toyo Open Country ATs: 35-40,000
Cooper Discoverer ATRs: 35-40,000
