Hey guys, some of you know I have a thread going where I have been called nothing but a troll because of the way I asked my questions.. Anyways I am talking to this guy about trading my 05 fx4 f150 super cab 4x4 120k miles and 8k $$(only paid 8500 for, blue books for about 11,500) for an 06 tacoma trd off road, double cab, 4x4 with 45k miles. Has a 6in pro comp lift with 18in rockstars, 35in mud terrains, with alpine sub and stero. He said he is the 3rd owner..what do you think of that? He said he bought it a month ago for 26k from a dealer, and is deploying so that is why he is selling/trading.
So my truck and 8k, for the tacoma. Technically I would have 16,500 in the tacoma. WOuld you say it is worth about 20k?

Sounds fishy and i wouldn't do it. If he paid $26k for it,he got robbed. Do you have any pics of the taco.

As long as you like those mods sounds like a good deal. It will hold it's resale value better too.

sounds like a decent trade. but I personally wouldn't buy a used truck that had been lifted. you never know what kind of abuse it was put through. and rockstars are ugly:crapstorm:

I would lift a tacoma if I got it so I want these mods..And I will get a pic up. I would ask for documentation of the buy from the dealer too

06 already has 3 owners. FIRST FLAG
3rd owner only owned it for a month SECOND FLAG
Deployment needs to get rid of truck BUT will take your truck in trade THIRD FLAG
why don't he just keep it if he is willing to take ANOTHER truck on trade.
Ask to see the dealer paper work where it states he paid $26k for it. I'm sure he knew he was being deployed before buying truck.

    20k is about right price.
Why would he sell his Tacoma due to deployment and buy another truck?
    Have you seen truck?
    Craigslist deal?
If it's a legit deal then I'd say go for it.
One thing for sure is, the Tacoma will hold it's value unlike the F150.

hmm sounds legit price wise cuz i paid 16K for my 06 DCLB TRD Sport, all stock with 76,000 miles. but the multiple owners thing seems kinda sketchy...

true that, just go to your bank and tell them your interested in a truck. They will do a free carfax for you(mainly for them to know tho).

im not saying take one out, just say your interested in it. And your bank should do a free one for you, get a copy and you know. That way you dont have to pay for the carfax lol (im cheap like that)
