Anyone got a shell camper setup they are proud of? I'd love to see it.
I'm looking into a Leer shell (partial ride 180) and then I want to build a removable raised platform to put a bed on with storage underneath. Any examples, links, pics, plans, or thoughts would be appreciated!

That's a nice shell. I like how the side window flips up. It can be handy at times. I have the SnugTop SuperSport, thinking about an upgrade.

I've got an ARE shell with a built-up plywood platform. It's built in pieces so it can be removed fairly easily. It's all screwed together so nothing rattles but it's not necessary for it to hold together. There is a hinged panel in the front of the platform so you can get at things that slide to the front of the bed under the platform. I can now keep tools underneath and have a nice, flat area for my stuff, the dog, etc. I still need to carpet it or do some sort of rubber mat but I'll wait til it warms up.

Edit: If you're going to build a platform like this, that extra couple inches of headroom you get with the mid-rise cap is great!

Yep, one of the wires is for the third brake, the other is for the cap light. I wired it so the parking lights have to be on in order for the light to work so I can't drain my battery by accidentally leaving it on. I kept the wires exposed and used quick release connectors to make it easy to unclip and remove the cap (even though I'll probably take it off once a year if that).
