    Put the lift on (2.5" poly spacer in front and aal's in rear, wit front diff drop) and test drove it. I heard a vvvvrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr noise that was consistent with speed. Sounded like it was the outside sipes of the tire coming in contact with the road, so I figured alignment would take care of that. Got that done and checked to make sure nothing was rubbing and the cv shafts were good. Everything is good except I still have the same noise even after aligning it. I noticed the NTB I took it to used 09' specs and I have a 10'. Shouldn't be a difference though. When I look at the alignment printout the toe is spot on, camber is fairly close to spec, but caster is off in the positive. It doesn't seem that this would create this noise though. What I am wondering if anyone has had this same problem and what have you done to correct it. I have checked the diff and cv's for excessive heat after driving and they are close to ambient.

    Test drove with only the front done first and heard the noise, and yes did the aal myself, didn't need to diconnect the drive shaft for the rear, only the brake line clamps. It was a 1" front diff drop and the cv's seem to be extremely close to thier original position, though I haven't ruled anything out yet.

    "Poly" spacer, as in plastic spacer? Could just be hitting a resonance frequency at certain speeds. Make sure the three top plate nuts are tight.

    Don't know if plastic and polyurethane are the same or close but gonna recheck the torque on those to see what I can get out of it. I read and have a gut wrenching feeling that it may be a bearing in the front diff, not sure why, it's a new truck and bearings are strong. Gonna have to get a professional second opinion. Thanks for the input. Any more suggestions or any body that has had a similar problem please keep me updated. Thanks

    Polyurethane is a relatively soft material, commonly used as a replacement for rubber bushings in control arms. It really shouldn't be used as a coil spacer or top plate spacer. Do you have a photo of the setup?

    It does, there is a faint sound but it does go away. I grabbed the driver inner cv and shook and there was alot of play between tha cv and where the bearing is on the diff. Now I geuss I have to determine which it is either bearing or cv and figure out what caused this cuz that shouldn't have happened. Any ideas

    Not til tomorrow, but not much of a difference before I put the lift on. How exactly can I be sure that it is the diff bearing?

    If the noise goes away in 4H. The pressure on the bearing in 4H silences the noise. Take it to the dealership while still under warranty

    Think they'll give a damn bout there being a lift on it and not honor the warranty because of that? Geuss I could call em and find out.

    The have to prove the lift caused the issue. This is a common problem search for diff bearing failure.

    Ok so called dealer today, they can't get me in til next thurs. I think I wanna remove the diff drop so they don't eff anything up or lose stuff. Even thinking bout taking out the top spacer so they don't mess that up either. Only bad part is if they don't have the parts and I gotta wait I'll be ridin in a goofy lookin rake on the truck. Thoughts bout this anyone. Should I trust the yota mechs to do it right or not?

    All right, got the truck in at the dealer today to get the diff bearing checked out. I will post again on the result when I get it back.
