I had my blower motor replaced two times in the first 6 months the third started making noise about a month later. Toyota should have a recall. they also broke the plastic mount for thr glove box dampener. I just hit 52K so im going fot the Toytek lift. This truck is a pile of crap but its my crap. Toyota makes junk! Not like the old days. my keyless just broke last week. Add that to my list of never ending problems. One more year and 50K later SVT Raptor will be mine. I'd like to burn this POS but im sure the law would not like that. Mr.Ed out.

I also had rust on my 2010 rear bumper after 4 months. The truck had only 1200 miles on it. It was replaced under warranty by the dealer. No questions.

New bumper seems to be holding up OK so far...

The rust you guys are seeing is surface rust. You can buff it out pretty easy. I know it sucks to see that on new chrome, but you can treat it and it doesn't hurt the structure at all.

That being said, has anyone asked for a colored bumper as replacement for the chrome?

To the OP ... the best you can probably do is get it documented. That way if it fails in the future even outside of warranty, you'll have a case. But the dealer guy does have a point .... kind of a lot of plastic to throw in the landfill for something that's not actually broken.

His mistake on my truck, he can fix it. If it works fine then he can replace it with one on the lot. Would you be upset to find out that glovebox was installed on your new truck, even though nothing is wrong? Probably, considering it's used and damage that is not your fault. With that said, when he called about the blower I brought it up again. His problem was that hd could not get them to warranty replace it, he will have to eat it. He will learn to think before he acts

Regardless whether it is surface rust or not, it's unacceptable for new truck owners to deal with. As the owner of a new truck I should not have to worry about or need to treat rust on my bumper. I like the idea of the color match bumper, I plan to get something different back there so if they can treat it to keep it from looking like that then I'll be happy :)

that rust is in fact rust..im a welder and deal with it all the time. however that type of rust is caused by the breaks one the trains that they ship them on. i worked for toyota in 1998-2000 and faced this problem a lot.. just nagggg the shit out of the dealership and they will make it right.
