I took the plunge yesterday and bought my first Toyota pick'em up truck.
Previously, owned an S-10, then a Ranger and since the Ford is getting ready to celebrate it's tenth birthday, I figured it is time to get him a sister.
I did the reliability research (including trolling this forum) on trucks and had it narrowed down to a Frontier and a Taco. After I drove the 2011 Dbl cab long bed sport package, I knew this was going to be my baby.
So, I am stoked, can't wait to take delivery and start making her mine. With so many options to add and so little money to spend at the moment, my head is already starting to spin. Get in the group buys I guess.
I'll be spending a lot of tine here reading and learning, so in advance, thanks all.

Nice choice on the truck. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it for a long long time. Where's the photos? Lay that baby out and get us some centerfolds... I wanna see a whole spread by Sunday.

It's killing me because I have to wait for the tag to come up from Florida. I'm from there and working up here under contract. I feel like a little kid unable to play with his Christmas presents under the tree.
Hopefully, the tag will be in by next weekend, then I'll post some pics.

Talked with the the dealership today and was told that it's going to take 10-14 days to get tags sent up from Florida. The day I bought it the sales manager told me it takes about a week.
I know I can do it, but I think it's going to be pure hell.:goingcrazy:

I got a call Wednesday from my salesman saying the tag came in from Florida already, way sooner than anticipated. I live about 75 minutes from the dealership, so, I made an appointment to take possession today. Riding on cloud nine!
The thing drives sweet and handles well too. Much better than my 02 Ranger does.
I'll post some pics on the Metallic Grey thread later.

Welcome to TW. New to the site myself. Great ideas from a very creative and friendly bunch of fellow Taco owners here.
