Does anyone have any pics / advice, about painting or plastidipping their Gulf Coast (Texas, OK, Louisianna) rims? I've got a set & I'm considering a new look. Not sure if I need to scuff, or if the paint / plastidip will even stick? I've read many threads about the painting and or plastidipping process, mainly just wondering if anyone with my rims has already painted / plastidipped, and if they had any issues different from all the other rims.

    Thanks in advance.

Looks Good!!! Do you mind if I ask.... how much did the powdercoating set you back?

I don't have any pics and I'm not planning on doing mine but the process should be the same as any other clear-coated wheel. Which wheels do you have? The full polish wheels would look pretty good in all black.

    Badwin45 -
I tried to attach a pic but no luck. I added one in my profile. I'm pretty sure mine's polished, they almost look chromed. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks easyeatlanta. I'll check out powdercoating.

I spray painted mine about 6 months after i got it. Bought in Pcola, lived in FWB and stayed less than a mile from the beach at all times. All I did was wash and primer and paint and clearcoat. Held up the whole time with only 1 wheel getting a chip the size of a dime.

They key is the prep and taking your time with multiple coats. It took me 2 days to do mine but it was worth it.

Thanks a lot for the advice guys. I think I'm gonna try it, soon as I can get a nice sunny weekend. I'll post pics after. The worst thing that could happen is I convince my wife I should get new ones! ha. ha.
