    Maybe a hitch step would be better and cheaper.

    I have one and like it. I am only 5' tall and it makes it a lot easier getting into and out of the bed with the tailgate down not to mention the knees, I a have a titanium plate on the front of my right knee. I agree it is expensive but it is worth it for me.
