Thats the only Ford I'd buy. But t would have to be the 6.0(or what ever it is) supercharged. And being towed with my taco.

i beg to differ, they may be sick in the desert, but in anything else they are shit. i've seen one stuck up to its rockers in sugar sand.....they(raptors) are just oversized & overweight pickups with expensive suspension trying to keep up with the rest of us, on the trails. probably great mall crawlers though for the bros out there....

Because my family has owned four of them. I actually kind of like the company because they survived the economic collapse without government aid, but the worst one we owned had burned valves at 15,000 and a new engine at 30,000 and the best one ('85 Explorer) drove like a car with 200,000 miles at 60,000.

    Never again.

I don't see anything wrong with Ford. My dad has a '93 F-350 DCLB 5spd with the 460.. it has 400,000km on it and has only had very minor mechanical work done to it. Also a '91 DCLB with 200,000km. Nada.

I was actually looking around on F-150 forums to get real world MPG for the new EcoBoost because I can't stand the fuel consumption in my Tacoma... I'm glad to hear it wasn't much better than the Tacoma. I'll keep 'er for now.

I was a pro for twenty years working on all brands. Ford to me just did it the hard way most times. Most everything else was easier to work on IMHO.

Only reason I dislike ford is because my dad told me when I was young if I ever got a Ford, he would not work on it. (he was a service and parts manager for a few places)

But between us, if I had the money, I'd ravage one of them f-150 raptors.

I don't hate them. Had several as company vehicles and they have served well for the most part. Just like the Toyotas actually.

The reason I posted.....since you're a Ford tech....we just had a Ford E250 with a 5.4 in it spin a rod bearing....is that a common thing or is this a fluke? It's an 02 but only has 65K on it. I know that vehicles with low miles for the year don't always work out as well as we might think, but it was kind of odd that it went from running awesome to spun bearing in a matter of a minute. The guy driving it is a car guy and never noticed any warning signs.

I just dont think they make strong gas trucks, My buddies was a rattle can at 50k, he sold it after having it for only 3 years. I love the heck out of ford diesels thought. I grew up around them and would own one in a heartbeat.
