Floor Jack Recommendations

I have been looking to buy a decent floor Jack.
This is the one that is most appealing to me.



From Harbor Freight. It has mixed reviews on their site.

Does anyone own this floor jack?

Any comments about this jack or suggestions for something else?

I need something relatively light as I do have some back issues.

 

I have it and it is very light and works pretty well. Takes more than 6 pumps but still lifts fast. havent had any problems with it yet, only had it for a year. Have other jacks but use this one because it is so nice how light it is.

 

I heard that about Craftsman.

I have a good aluminum floor jack (can't remember rating) that is heavy duty and bought it at COSTCO ... maybe 5 to 7 years ago.

I need to buy a jack too.

 

I looked at Costco and on their web site but had no luck

Napa 3 1/2 Ton. A little pricey but worth it in my mind.

 

All the jacks are manufactured inexpensively now.

I recommend buying from a local auto parts store, and saving your receipt, so that if there's a problem, you can return it easily.

I bought the AC/Delco from my local O'Reilly(nee Kragen)

 

I bought a cheap floor jack from the local auto parts store 25 years, and the cheap SOB just failed...

Personally, get the heaviest, longest frame jack you can find. You don't need more than 2 metric ton capacity for your taco, but flexibility in nice. Remember, this is GARAGE equipment, not mobil equipment.

the harbor freight jack lifts just as high as any other. Which means it wont lift the rear wheels all the way off the ground when on the frame.

I have two craftsman jacks that have different problems, one blew the seal after about a year. They both cost more than the Harbor Freight one.

 

The torin looks nice. Has a 22 inch reach too. How long have you had it?

 

I bought the Harbor Freight one when it was on sale for pretty cheap, not bad. I had a Napa low-rider jack (got under lowered cars easy) for about 8 years til I got to SD, then some bum jacked it out of my garage....oh the irony.

I'll probably buy another Napa jack when I have a better garage situation cause carrying it would be a PITA.
