I have Walker Evans coilovers on the front of my truck set to 2.5" The front of my truck is still about 1.5" shorter than the back. I would like to level my truck, is it possible to put spacers in the front to level it?

toytec top plate spacer to get to 3" or crank the coilovers a bit more to get 3". With IFS on the Tacoma you will not *safely get more than 3" of lift.

You can't put a spacer on top of a CO, only on Bilstein's or OME Setups...you can crank up the CO's to 3" of lift any higher will kill your CV's if you're 4WD...Also, what are you running for rear lift?

indépendant front suspension. your front suspension have a limited amount of travel. When you lift you start taking away from the downtravel due to the preload.

So say you start with 8" of travel (pretty close to what we start with). Lift it 3", theoretically you have 1" of down travel left. Which means your ride gets to be more harsh as you bottom the strut assembly out more frequently, not to mention the more harsh ride just from the higher spring rate alone.

So once you start lifting the truck past 3", it makes no sense. If you are 2wd and have some money, to level the truck the extra 1.5", I would personally get Camburg spindles. They give you a 4" lift just from the spindles and keep the factory geometry. They allow 4" of lift because they are not taking away from the travel, rather taking the hub assembly lower with a "taller" spindle.

Kind of tricky but I think I explained it pretty well. Someone chime in if I said anything wrong please.

Yeah, I cranked the crap out if it last night but I couldn't get any more lift. Which was weird. It just stiffend the ride. I still had about two inches left of threads too so I figured it would have worked. I have Bilsteins in the back as well as a 1.5" AAL. I would much rather lift the front then lower the back, because lowering just sucks... Maybe I should just get an RCD 4" lift kit?

Are you 2wd or 4wd? Drop brackets dont do much for ground clearance if you wheel.

Damn ok if thats the case ya your doing to have do go with something like that.

You cranked them up, achieved no lift just a harsher ride? That is weird...I know the harsher ride is expected but not achieving any lift is weird.

They wont work with 4wd unfortunately. You will have to go with a DB like the RCD if you want 4"+

what series WEs are you running? i'm running 3" lift w/ ~3 1/4-3 1/2" of thread showing from the top of the collar. getting ready to rebuild them and install some beefier King coils onto the WE shocks.

Im not really sure what they are cuz they came with the truck and the seller didn't know anything about them either. Apparently the first owner put them on. The coils look like this though.

Trading in Walker Evan's for a drop bracket lift is ridiculous is you are going for anything other than looks.

The easiest thing to do is just get a smaller lift for the back if you want a more level look.

You'd be lowing your ground clearance if you went with a drop bracket.

The original install sheets from AP state that to have 3" of lift, you need between 3 1/4 and 3 1/2" of thread showing. The higher amount on the drivers side. Measure the amount of threads showing.
