I Have been wanting to an Ipod capability to my stock unit, but after lots of research. I decided to by a new head-unit, so I purchased the Dual XHD 7714 head-unit from Crutchfield.

I went with the XHD because it had Ipod Capability, built in HD radio (awesome), and Built in Bluetooth (for Calls and music streaming). Along with the Dual receiver i purchased the Axess steering wheel control adapter. The Metra Dash kit came for free!! All together $250!!

Also in the middle is the 4X4 illumination switch from rcbs204

Started of course with the AC control unit
pulled out all the control knobs and gently pried it off.

the four bolts in this pic attached the stock unit to the dash.

she pretty much popped right out after that

    then unhooked all the wires

I soldered all the wiring and wrapped them in heat shrink tubing

then added my 4x4 lighting unit into the switch

then built up the new receiver and dash kit

the plug in the middle with the purple red and yellow wiring is the stock steering wheel control unit. I had to clip off the plug and used those wires to connect to the Axxes control plug. (forgot to get a good picture of that) The toughest part was soldering these wires while they where in the Taco.

The red and white wires are for the 4X4 switch. I tapped into the AC lighting wires.

After the soldering was done. Everything popped right back in no problem!
