I had a similar situation a few years ago with a guy selling some sort of cleaning product door to door while I was out washing the car I had at the time. He was saying it would clean the stains or whatever have been on the side of our concrete front porch forever(barely worked when he sprayed it there). He then approached my car and was about to try it on there to show me how it worked on vehicles and I advised him not to spray anything on my car, I wasn't interested. He asked again but luckily it only took 2 times telling him for him to be on his way. Not sure why people can't comprehend that you don't want them spraying an unknown substance on your vehicle. I think you handled it fine I probably would have lost my cool myself I have no patience for stupid people.

Agree a 100% with that, that is the main reason I had no reason to get angry with anything she did, she is young she obviously would not get why I felt such way toward that.

Fuck that, i would have went ape shit if that was my Gloss black hot rod, or my truck. You showed way more restraint then i would have had. No one touches my shit unless it is family or good friends.

Believe I know I almost lost it when he started yelling, but to be honest with you it even scares the shit out of me when I get pissed off like that, its like an on/off switch. Around here things get nasty fast, meaning people have gotten shot over things as dumb as parking spaces. A decade ago people would just get in a fist fight and that's it, now you get in a fight and a knife or gun comes out quickly.

To me is not worth it for such stupid things that why I'm glad I was able to control myself, I'm not armed or anything but if the guy is, it would pretty much piss me off even more.

The other thing I find funny, is that people react like you think your truck is made out of gold, I say this because when he told me he would pay for the whole truck, it was like he was trying to show off, pretty much saying I have money too you know, why is he trying to show off? did he feel threatened by me? its not like I think my truck is a big deal, I'm not rich I don't have loads of money, so I try to take care of my things so they last as long as possible, hell my truck is a base model, I try to protect and take care of it cause I want to get 20 years out of it.

I always go to that gas station once a week, next time I'll just try to find who the hell is his boss and hopefully that person has a brain, that's if the guy gets cocky again.

epa4wd - Did you speak to the gas station attendant about this matter? I would advise making it clear that your continued business would be dependant upon solicitors - especially one that advised you not to patronise the gas station - being barred from the premises.

Also, do you recall the name of the product being sold? You may be able to get some shit to roll downhill in retribution for such conduct with a diplomatic but strongly-worded email.
