Awesome job on truck. Thanks for any help

great lookin truck and nice pics. jealous as everyone else on the wheels.

x2 on the headliner/screws question
The top of the windshield/front of the roof has a thickened metal frame (kinda like tube steel) so I drilled small pilot holes for the screws to screw into. You just gotta be super careful cause if you drill through the 1st layer and arent careful you could drill through the roof or dent it from the inside making a bump from the inside that would look weird. I just went really slow so that wouldn't happen. Before I started this project I requested to see what the truck looked like with the headliner removed and was lucky enough to have a member email me a photo of his truck with the headliner removed. That pic verified that I would have something to drill into so the scews could attach. To this day, the dual visor mod works great... and I use the drivers side dual visors every day that we have sun.
Hope that helps.

Latest mod is a tailgate lock.
Bought it off eBay for $19.99 shipped. Nice quality and super fast shipping. Easy to install and remove. Best part is it will fit full size trucks as well, so I can remove it and use it for all future trucks.

Here are some pics:
Here is what you get. Instructions and 2 keys not shown.

This one shows you what you can see when the tailgate is closed. Just a small amount of the metal strap. Blends well with my silver truck.

Trying to show you that it is a tight fit once you start closing your tailgate. It fits but just barely. The little bump in the middle of the plastic is a sliding door that reveals the key lock. Thats a smart idea to keep the elements out of the lock.

Top view looking down. Another shot showing a tight fit. I guess the tight fit will keep it from rattling as I go down the road.

Oops. Thanks for letting me know.

Guess we cant link off of TW gallery pics (or maybe I just did it wrong).

Anyhow. Hosted them elsewhere and changed the links. They should work now. Let me know if they need more work.

Thanks,
Nathan

Just one. Thats all we need due to how the tailgate attaches.

My latest addition is an ipod/iphone adapter made by isimple. Install was super fast (maybe 10 minutes tops to remove the radio and plug in one harness, then put the radio back in and run the cord that connects to the ipod/phone). It is a simple plug and play... I ran the cord under center console and popped it out the side next to the seat so when I dont have it plugged into my iphone it is hidden between the seat and the center console. =)

Latest mod... well, not really a mod as much as it is "general upkeep"...

I wanted to post this for all the member who (like me) don't think they have enough miles on their truck to justify the need to look at replacing the cabin air filter.

I have just barely over 25k miles on my 2006 tacoma and 90% of the time, I am the only one in the truck. When I got my oil changed I decided now would be a good time to look behind the glove box and see if the air filter needed a "dusting".

Here is what I found:
(and what my brain was thinking)
......:con fused::con fused:....

After finding leaves, bird feathers, a ton of dirt and some other unidentifiable stuff, I decided to replace it asap. I've read about others making their own replacements by cutting up a house filter but I wasnt really in the mood to do that. I called around locally for pricing. Knechts wanted $32 and didnt have it in stock. My local Dealer was better but still wanted $20. Then I found http://www.logical-source.com. I played around with cart qty till I was happy with my order + shipping. I bought new cabin filters for both my 06 taco and my 08 4runner. You cant beat $3.62 for the taco filter. After buying both filters and paying shipping, it was still cheaper than what my dealer was asking.

Here is what I got:

Enjoy.

Looks good man! BTW, I am planning on doing the same thing, lift 3". How has the ride changed from stock? Any major differences? Does Toyota still warranty it?
Thanks

Thanks!

It is a little stiffer than stock but nothing too uncomfortable. My background is in the import scene so Im pretty used to a stiff suspension (from running huge rims on slammed cars).

In my case my 3yr warranty is up but, if i was still under warranty, I believe Toyota would warranty anything on the truck that is not a direct result of the suspension mods.

Thanks,
Nathan

Thanks... and you're not the first person to call dibs... I've actually had a handful of people send me PM's about them... Hopefully when the time comes someone will still want them.
