Added an AFE filter to the truck, didn't really notice any gains in power either but I do like that it is reusable and has a great seal on the airbox.

Thanks, I will post some new pics soon waiting on new UCA's to show up so I will have to test them out once they get here.

Thanks, it has been a lot of fun so far to build and wheel.

I just ordered a set of light racing UCA's, so my Camburgs will going to the bargain bin. I need more caster adjustment to get my alignment back to spec. so the LR's seem like a good choice after doing some research. As you can see from the pics the wheeling has been pretty good here so you better make it over before the snow flies this fall.

Hmm... you may run into rubbing issues if you add caster via the LR UCAs. I guess there is only one way to find out :D

That's coming from my experiences anyway. I'll be curious to see what happens. Keep me posted if you would.

I'll keep you posted, where were you rubbing at with yours? I don't need much adjustment to get back to spec just a hair more than the Camburgs offer. I can get away what I have now but it seems like it is worth trying.

I see. At full stuff, almost full lock, they push into the rear fenderwells, which I beat the piss out of. And just barely clear the cab mount I chopped back as far as possible.

I agree with you that the LR UCA seem to be a good choice. Question: will they work with a ext travel CO such as the ICONs? Or do you need the uniball type for that? I like the idea of the sealed ball joint style for no maint. Please post pics and alignment specs when you get it dialed in. Thanks

Thanks, the Softopper is holding up really well I have had to replace one button that broke on it (.25 cents) and had a back window break in really cold weather which softopper sent me a new one with no questions asked free of charge.

Cool, I am only going with LR uca's to help with alignment which looking at other posts they should accomplish. I beat my fenderwells back as well and have an idea on how to rework my cab mounts to add some more clearance looking at how the FJ guys are cutting theirs. I'm running timbren bumps up front so I lost a little up travel but it is keeping the tire out of the fenderwells and gives me full range on the steering. So it seems worth it IMO to give up a little travel. I have thought about cutting them down as they are really tall or at least splitting them to make them a little softer but need to cycle the suspension and take measurements to get it right. Thinking that will be a winter project when I have some time off.

    Thanks

Not sure on the extended travel Icons but it looks like wrmathis has you covered on that question. I will post up alignment numbers as soon as I put them on and get it aligned. They are sitting in my garage on the workbench I have been busy with work so as soon as I get some days off it will get done.

Good to know, I may have access to some extended travel Icons in the future a buddy of mine is talking about going with a mid travel kit on his truck.

Thanks, I have always liked your truck from the CBI and your build threads really sharp looking and clean. I like the color matched rings on the classic locks.

On the flares we are working on making a set of molds to start producing them. I just got my hands on a set of take offs from a 2011 long bed but still need a set of short bed rears so that we have a complete line. It is slow going so they are a few months out but we are working on them hoping to make something tough and affordable.:D

On the pinch weld I used a cut off wheel and cut it approx. every 1" or so then folded the pieces alternating back and forth kind of like a zipper. It is a little tough to see but for every tab folded torward the fender there is one folded inboard.

Hope the pics help they are hard to see but it seemed like the best way to do it the last pic I sprayed it with some bedliner to finish it off.

In other news I got the call that the gears for the Crawlbox showed up and it is being built and should ship soon. I did the math today in Lurry's thread on another forum and came up with a crawl ratio of 232.1 I'm really excited for it to show up.

"So I just did the math it should be 232.1 for my SR5 4banger, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but this is the process I used.

    Diff Ratio = 4.88

    1st gear Ratio = 3.954 R155F

    Low Range Ratio = 2.56

    Crawler= 4.7

    3.954 x 2.56 = 10.12 low range 1st gear

10.12 x 4.88=49.396 low range at the wheel

    49.396 x 4.7=232.16 final crawl ratio "

I have devised a plan to use a Crawlertech 1" bodylift and a BFH to gain enough clearance on the tunnel to get my transfer case at least level with the frame rails so I can get the skids a little flatter.

I put the Light Racing UCA's on yesterday and got it aligned today I will post the numbers shortly.

That is with a doubled crawler, it is insane how low that is  my ratio should be just fine for me. Your truck is looking tough with that prerunner bumper.

by doubled crawler do you mean triple cases? I thought that's what Marlin had in his rig.

On the other hand, I love this truck. I can't wait to see pictures when you get the cases installed. That mod moves up a little higher on the list every time that I wheel. I am thinking about a two cases with 2.28 (stock 1st gen gear driven cases) with the triple stick, since I have a regular cab and not a whole lot of room. I have only had my rig off road twice (in the first 1000 miles) and the gearing and that stupid twist dial 4wd thing is annoying. I want solid lever shifting cases.

Yup, two crawlers and a transfer case is what that truck is running. Its a great way for Marlin to show off his product. I looked at doubling up my crawlers to move the TC back enough to not screw up where my seats are with a 2.28 and a 4.7 it would have put my TC back 17" and for the cost after talking with Wyatt it seemed like the 2.28+2.56 is close enough to the 4.7 and the 2.28 vs the 2.56 in the TC is close enough that it would be wasted money for me to go that route.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to it as well I hope the install is as smooth as the FJ case was to put in. We'll see I have somebody lined up to take care of the drivelines but will wait for the crawler to show before working the drivelines over. For gearing I really dug my truck after I put in 4.88's over the stock 4.10's Then adding the FJ case brought it to a whole new level so we'll see what the crawler does.

Are you still running the FJC case, or are you replacing it completely?

And what does TC mean? Torque Convertor, Total Chaos,...???
