Krylon Fusion Plastic Bonding paint on the badges. You should be able to find it at Home Depot, Lowes, or Walmart.

And check this thread for the grille. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/bu...ed-oem-grilles-175-shipped-brand-new-box.html

I think they cost like $185 now, but still the cheapest grille + shipping.

Your truck looks rad. I'm runnin' the exact truck in an '05 six speed. I saw your truck in its current state and felt like it was the same vision I have for mine. Right down to the 7089's. And you totally cleared up any doubts I had about the 16x8. Those things look sick. Should have mine on for spring. Can't wait. And the black rear bumper is wear its at. Does the bedliner just spray straight onto the chrome? I was also thinking Plasti Dip but not sure I want that finish. Sick, sick rig bro.

Thanks man; you have good taste! Yes, the 16x8's are the way to go in my opinion: more tire, less wheel. I was wary about getting them because the wheel places said they wouldn't fit and even some people on here said they wouldn't. I kind of took a chance and got them anyway and they DO fit. I just wanted to make sure everybody else knew, so they don't have to move up to 17's or 18's. Good choice on the 7089's though, they look great with the white. You probably could just tape off the bumper and spray the bedliner right on, but I took mine off and roughed it up good to make sure it would stick good. I will say if you do take it off completely to paint it, be careful and kind of gentle taking off the plastic parts on the top, they're easy to break. And the plasti dip I put on was just a trial to see how it looked before I did the real thing. Good luck with your truck and feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Thanks. For on the road compared to the stock trd shocks? Well the stock ones felt really soft, like driving a car. The OME ones don't necessarily feel rougher or bad, they are just more firm. They just make it feel more "like a truck" if you hit a pot hole or uneven spot in the road. It doesn't have that soft feeling like it used to, it feels more like driving a f-350 or something if that makes sense. It doesn't ride rough, just different.

So if you are planning on lifting, any brand or type no matter how cheap or expensive, don't expect it to ride like a caddilac anymore lol. That's just part of lifting anything.

The ones I have are 4.5" and most other sizes of the 7089 are 4.5" as well.

    Thanks man, I love them

    Nice truck!

I was actually looking for a build with 295s and a 3" lift and your truck is similar to mine.

I have the same wheels and a 3" lift but with aftermarket control arms

Im not afraid to do any chopping but im just nervous about rubbing in general

Do you happen to have the center of wheel hub to bottom of fender measurement?

    Thanks for any info!

Well you'll definitely have the typical plastic rubbing. The thing about the aftermarket control arms and the reason I have held off on getting them is because in a way they're going to increase the amount of travel that your wheels can turn. Mine without that extra turning radius will just barely rub the cab mount when backing up in reverse up/down an incline with the wheels almost completely turned one way or the other. I don't do any extreme off roading in this truck, but I'm sure if I was completely flexed out that I would rub more. So with your aftermarket uca's, you will probably rub a little sooner than I do when doing the same thing. I have no idea how much worse it would be. But I can say that the times I rub compared to the overall amount of time I'm using the truck is probably 5% or less of my driving. It rarely happens, so it doesn't bother me enough to go get my cab mount chopped. I can't really say how much worse yours would be, but I believe that you'd have enough ability to turn to be able to drive home after you get your 295's put on, take the truck somewhere to get the cab mount chopped, whatever trimming you may want to do, etc. With the exception of having to at least cut out some of the inner fender plastic, you could probably do most all of your daily driving. And if you don't wheel this truck, then you may find that it's not an issue and that you don't want/need to chop the cab mount.

I don't have any measurements on hand, but I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow.

I do have that. I like the 295's, and the Hankooks have been great tires all around. I'd recommend them to anybody looking for an MT that also behaves well on the road. Plus they have the biggest 295 on the market that I could find: 33.6x11.6. They're almost as tall as some 315's. And they have even been mistaken for 35's a few times, which is cool . I like them, but I'm kind of thinking about getting 305/70/16 Duratracs next time because they're a little wider, look good, last a while, and are a little cheaper. It will depend on how this set plays out.

Good deal man. The cutting shouldn't be bad. But it is best to weld a plate back over it after you've cut it back, or at the least spray a good coat of something over that bare metal.

Thanks. I'm not sure. I've had them on for over a year now, so they probably have probably 20,000+ miles on them and they are holding up great. I have them rotated and balanced every 5,000 to keep them in good shape, which helps a lot. For how they are wearing after 20k miles, I'd say I'm going to probably get at least 2, maybe 3 times that out of them.
