yeah man thor is a cool mother fucker lol!

i talked to him on the phone for awhile yesterday and we looked over all my options and going on his recommendations we basically removed any weak links that existed in my kit.

now the weakest link is the winch itself which is nice the m8000 is a tough little booger. i thought i had it licked and i was going to stick with the steel rope for awhile but, after using it a few times now i absolutely hate it lol. i'm a fairly patient guy but, the time it takes to wrap new steel wire that has no real memory in a very enclosed bumper like the arb just seems retarded to me so viking it is :)

the arb makes it very hard to see how the cable is spooling on the drum and one litle mistake like having the cable glom onto to one side and viola your cutting through the two aluminum bars that run across the drum then you rip the winch right off the truck
i didn't realize that was even a possibility lol until i got under there and saw some of the carnage and talked with thor.

on the mirrors idk if you had already ordered parts or not but, muth makes a thermostat controlled heated mirror and signal kit thats pretty sweet. iirc muth is oem for alot of domestic cars and trucks so they make a quality set up that looks pretty easy to instal.

hey hans, what's the latest with your headlight situation? you seem to have spent more time and money on retro's than anyone else on the forum, but even you've had issues which is causing me to reconsider doing them at all:eek: btw, your rig is sick:thumbsup:

i have to tell you if your going to do them follow viet2100's write up and take your time all the problems i had are becuase i didn't do these they where done by a professional retrofitter.

if you can believe it he had them apart three times and used 2 sets of new housing. lol if i had to do it again i would have sent my stuff to asian ants here on tw all his stuff is rock solid from what i hear.

i have done others myself that turned out ok as well i just like really bright lights and keep changing them cause i'm tarded lol.

this most recent set though i have had some issues with but, they are crazy at night.

    thanks man.

i quit smoking today lol so the wife made me a promise she would buy me the heated signal mirrors from muth in one month from today if i can keep from smoking. if i make it 2 months its either a retrofit on the arb fogs or heated seats

    thanks man :)

i can't wait to get all the new viking gear in.

i by accident almost killed my brand new winch last week lol. i figured it out took all the planetary gears out and packed all the gear sets with aeroshell 17/ 33ms. i went on psutaco's advice and sealed the upper drain plug as well and sealed every mating surface with a think band of black silicon as well. now the thing can literally be dunked underwater and survive.

now its smoother and quieter and ready for the new synth line. it was an experience taking it all apart it was kind of neat learning how it all works. warn really does make a great winch. i think i got everything sorted out with it now it should be bomb proof by this point.

thanks i have had a good year with that h/u and i really like it. the blue tooth gets sketchy at times but, other than that it has been awesome.

i have been wanting to add a sub of some type but, i have no idea when it comes to stereo stuff i never got into that scene lol.

any recommendations for small hard hitting decent amount of base? i was thinking of a bazooka tube or something or the under the seat type cause space is at a premium in the regular cabs.

Great looking truck. How well does the 4 cyl. keep up with the larger tires? I've been a little reluctant to switch to a larger tire until I asked someone who has. I'm going with a front leveling kit for mine from summit racing, although i really like the look of your 3" lift. Have you had any trouble with your lift?

i did have a lot of issues due to the 730 pound spring rate initially. but, since the arb & the winch and a couple thousand miles it actually rides ok now and flexes pretty good. but you need to add a ton of weight to the front in order to get the procomp lift to function correctly.

lol its never going to be confused with an icon set-up it rides a little firm but, over the last year and with the bullbar and winch in there it really has softened up oh and i had to lose the sway bar as well and that absolutely made a difference in ride compliance my asso'meter could tell the difference :)
