Just take a week or two off. I'll be passing through (somewhat) your area and you can come with. Road trips are awesome.

Yeah for sure. I definitely want to take a few good road trips in the future! Moab is one of them too! :drevil:

We haven't decided on a date yet but I'm thinking towards the end of April beginning of May. It won't be as hot around then. If you become interested let me know. It'd be cool to have another vehicle. We'll just be camping/exploring/wheeling.

    Thanks for the event jack.

I'll probably be at the Rubicon that year as well.

Is it just you heading to Moab right now, or do you know anyone else planning for that time as well? It definitely sounds like a good time of the year to go there. :)

Thanks. Good luck with the build. It gets pricey pretty quickly.

For now it's just he gf and me. If it's just us two in the end that's totally cool with us. We were just going to explore as much as we could. Go wheeling with whom ever we find at the trails.

Thanks. I think it was about a full day. Gutting the truck is pretty simple. Cleaning the metal took a little while (I did the insides of the doors as well and they were nasty) and I did a layer of dynomatt and a layer of ensolite on top of that. In the end I think it was worth is. The truck retains heat in the winter better and does the opposite in the summer (as long as the ac is working).

    Lookin sweet!

Curious on your choice of gears 4.56. What was your reasoning and so on. I am looking at 4.88's with an auto tranny. I didn't see what tranny you have in the truck.

    Thanks!

Automatic transmission. Unless you wheel a lot you don't need 4.88. With as much weight as I have on the truck I think 4.56's fit it well. I plan on eventually getting a crawler so the 4.56 gears would be more street friendly than the 4.88s.

Good thoughts on that and makes sense. I will have to look more into the 4.56's now. How do you like your ARB up front? I figure it's a must do with regearing why open it up twice and it has to be selectable. So not many choices.

If you have the money it's definitely worth it. I've used it many times especially in snow. It really depends on if you think you'd use it. If you have a rear locker and you barely if ever use that one then you probably don't need one in the front. You're also more likely to break a cv shaft if you're not careful. I haven't broken one in the year and a half that I've had the locker.
