    Cool, waiting to see what he comes up with, and thanks for all this...

    My last resort is to buy this, cut the back off and sew it up tight. Should be good enough for spring camping/ ski trips in the Sierras.

    Trying to find the best tires, the search continues but I am leaning very heavily towards Toyo Open Country MTs LT295/70R-17 (33X11.50R-17LT). We'll see??

    Waiting patiently for the "end cap" from the canvas guy. He will start working on it next week, pattern was already made. It will be a tan/sand color, should look nice.

    Buying the wife a new camera for our anniversary this week. It will be nice to borrow it, a lot. Should result in a lot of good pictures soon.

    Updated To-Do List / Bucket List (hehe):
    1. Install Winch
    2. Deaver springs in the rear with Relocated shackles and limiting strap
    (so I can use current shocks)
    3. New Tires
    4. Yellow Top Optima Batteries (x2)
    5. Dual Battery System
    6. On Board Air Compressor/ Power Tank (not sure which way to go??)
    7. Aux Fuel Tank / Jerry Cans
    8. Half Basket for Roof (so I can put surfboards on one side still)
    9. Upgrade Shocks/Coilovers and UCAs

    We'll see. Hopefully I can finish the list by the time I retire...I only have ten years to go. On second thought, maybe I'll have half the list done by then!

    I talked with the Canvas Guy and he should be shipping my new "End Cap" tomorrow! Can't wait. I'll definitely post some new pictures once I get it all set up.

    I received a new "Remote Solenoid Wiring Kit" for my winch. That will be my Saturday project, installing the Talon 12.5.

    I bought my wife (hehehe) a new DSLR Camera for our anniversary. We got a really nice Canon 60D with all the fixings. I'm still learning ehh, she's still learning how to use it, but WE have a couple of great shots already:

    It arrived today. I'm stoked! It took about one minute to set it up, and thirty seconds to break it down. It connects to my racks and a bungee to rear fender/rock slider/rim. Two dowels or tent poles can be installed on the vertical-outer corners for additional support, if required.

    Absolutely! I am taking the wife and kid down to the "sisters" this December. Scorpion Bay's next summer. Let me know, I'm serious as a heart attack. I've been doing lots of research, and it seems pretty damn safe despite the hype. Also, been going down to Baja most of my life...last time in 2006. Heading down on this next trip to go surfing, camping, even checking out some old Jesuit Missions, just to keep the wife intrigued...it will be awesome!

    Marty, you're ride is sick, like it-needs-to-be-quarantined-and-burned-in-a-remote- part-of-Nevada-sick. I think I'm going to spray Lysol in my eyes! I think I saw your truck down on 38th a few weeks back. Nice.

    Tac0831, sorry I haven't worked out a wheelin' trip with you yet, been busy. I'm still looking to get together and do something soon though!

    Just installed the Superwinch Talon 12.5 SR, finally! Had to use a remote solenoid wiring kit and put the solenoid behind the grill. I mounted the control plug to the grill too. So much for my Satoshi plans... It came out great, will have some pictures up after I get that filthy winch a wash.

    That's exactly what I want so I can sleep in my short-bed. It's nice that it only takes a minute to remove, store and drive away. I'd be interested in buying one...or the plans so I can have someone local make it. Does it breathe pretty well? How's it stand up to moisture?

    It has a net/mesh that you can barely see in but clearly see out. The mesh allows the breeze to come through. It is not "water tight" and I haven't sprinkler tested it yet. But, any water that does come through should stay in the channel for the back hatch and run down through the tailgate. We have a couple of updates to fix on the "beta" and should have them resolved soon.

    Also, it's made for a snug top and you must have a rack to tie it down. If you have another set up, I can't promise the outcome.

    I'll post up when we have it all flushed out!

    Went to Hollister on Saturday with my Jeep Neighbor. That place isn't half bad, got stuck, used the new winch a few times, went up Truck Hill. Good times!

    Got stuck in the pit below Truck Hill. We pulled out a full size Chevy and then my buddy's CJ made it through so I tried to follow :( but at least I got to use my new winch!

    I have the End Cap complete as well. Sorry it took me a while to post. We added another velcro tab to secure the tent flap rolled up, so just the screen can be closed to add breeze and limit critters.

    If anyone is interested I will PM you contact info for the manufacturer. They are $200 a piece and take about two weeks or so to ship. I am very satisfied with mine!
