Well...it has been a long time but I believe the truck is finally done! At least enough to drive it around...too many mods on the list of things to do! I also want to give a shout out to COTRUCKIN for coming through like a champ for a fellow member. Here are some pics....working on better one's though.

Now the only two parts on this entire truck that are not factory oem are the grill and the Radiator. The rad was replaced by the auction facility that I bought the truck from. They do that to make the truck run and drive and make it look like it is worth more!

I will also say that I love this truck! I also understand what others were complaining about regarding the 6spd. manual tranny. I wouldn't change it for anything but it is not smooth! Funny thing is it gets better if the A/C is on and the engine looses a little torqueyness!

I ran into so many little problems that held me up in the end. The core support was factory but needed to be tweaked as anything bolted to it would not line up. Airbag light would not shut off even after replacing almost entire system and even lending advice to other members on how to correct their system! Wanted to get the system flushed because the auction re-filled with green coolant so my tow truck broke down flat bedding it to the shop for flush and then the sub truck broke down as well. When the third truck finally set off to deliver the tacoma, it was involved in a wreck!! Someone just did not want me finishing up the tacoma!! I swear, every part of the repair was a struggle!

Wow, she looks good now. That is absolutely insane about your tow truck incident. What was that third phone call like when you received it? Ha Ha, I can just feel your frustration.

I might recommend you drive that baby carefully for a little while it sounds like someone drove it under a ladder or hit a black cat before they wrecked it. Depending on when the accident occurred and if I am up to date with my superstition theology (which I am not) you probably have 4 or 5 more years of bad luck you need to wear off :p.

How did you solve your airbag light issue? did you buy your airbags brand new or from a salvaged vehicle?

What do you have left to do other than modding it of course?

I dont mind sharing as I didn't do this for resale. I have 11 grand total into it. The truck cost me 8 and change but every part I replaced was OEM Toyota. Originally I bought capa certified fenders which are supposed to be the best aftermarket but they didn't line up either. Funny thing is that even Toyota parts still need to be tweaked. Also...my total includes tinting windows and new tires.

Thanks very much! Funny thing about the truck is that I have a bad habit of buying a car thinking that I am going to keep but end up selling just 2 to 4 months later. I am never completely satisfied and my wife was getting fed up! So we came up with the plan to finally find the vehicle that I absolutely loved everything about and would buy and keep it for a few years finally. Well...when purchasing this truck, I thought why would I want anything else than the 6spd manual? Then I drove an automatic and learned how well built they were for this truck and I now die a little inside each time I get get behind my steering wheel!!! I think in a few months, the new project will be to switch it to manual! I can just simply find someone local that would like to drive stick and throw them a few dollars for the swap.

Thanks very much for the compliments. And no on the hood. Local guy bought a brand new sport and hated the hood! Before it left the lot he had a regular hood painted and installed. He brought the scoop home and tried to sell it on CL for awhile but was asking crazy money. I finally sent him an offer for $200 and he took it!! That included the scoop insert as well! I got really lucky in a few areas with this truck. Now I am just waiting for my 5100's to get here to level out the front. The idea is to keep the truck looking clean. Reason being is that I don't have the funds to make it look tough! Would love 33's and 4-5 inches of lift. Satoshi grill is next. I already have the yota emblem and it was painted the factory indigo ink but I have to do a silver outline to really make the letters pop.

Yeah....I am slowly building a big list! So far I installed 5100 billie's in the front with the stock sport springs. Nothing crazy ....just set them at .85 to level the truck out. I did the inverter mod to be able to turn it on whenever I want and even tapped into the line to bring an outlet into the cab but with a twist. I didn't like the idea of cutting into the plastic so I made it so that there is a plug on the end of a 2' piece of line that stays neatly tucked between the console and the seat. The truck also got new shoes not to long ago....general grabbers AT2. Love the tire!

Very impressive... I like that you built it up from dead and plan to keep it... unlike so many scumbags who buy these things, fix them up cheaply and sell 'em as a regular old used car.
