What do you think about me running 650 coils w/ out a bumper for a few months? I really dont want to buy 600 coils then when im ready for a bumper/winch I have to do it again...

    IMO #650 at the lightest.
I know Maggie likes the height over 6+" of lift.
I kinda want #700 now looking back for the extra stiffness for the tars.

    Hated the #600

Yeah, I might just bite the bullet and go 650's and hope their not too stiff for awhile. I have to be 7-7.5" of lift :D So you get no clunking from your coilovers at all? Well if you decide to go 700 soon I might just buy the 650's off you?

I have more preload since I first put them on. Has me worried giving advice cuz I'm not sure the exact spring rate to get you lifted.

I do remember with no preload I was at least at 6" vs who knows with the original 16's (prob 5")

Wish I could try #700 like I tried the #650 with no preload

As for clunking. Can you describe exactly when u hear? Potholes?
Do you think is b/c of the pre load on them now? Pretty sure it takes a lot to compress a coil that's been cranked down.

Paging Evenflow for some more knowledge..

I know its defiantly the pre load causing the clunk (when I backed of the pre load the clunk lessened). Like if I hit a bump in the road hard the causes the suspension to drop. That is when I hear it so I am pretty sure they are maxing out them internally which isn't good. I just cant believe how limited they are. I lost a lot of droop compared to my 5100's and maybe even up travel (haven't flex'd it out yet).

I may just go with 650's and hope they dont ride like a brick. Summit racing is the cheapest I found them so far

    Really?
Mine used to drop down man I hated the pre load, now it soaks up everything I love it
I needa ask again after u test them.
I can't really say anything negative about the fox coilovers vs all my other setups cuz they are butter.

    My droop

    Yes
The clunk he is describing is in fact his CO's topping out harshly when they droop travel but it is not because of pre load or the spring rate it is because of the height the truck is at. No matter what spring you use when you adjust them to end up at 7" + you are causing the CO to sit almost topped out. The only way to truly fix it is to lower the truck to 6".

700 lb springs would give more lift without pre loading them but be aware that it also means a much stiffer ride AND it is NOT going to solve the problem because the CO is not designed to sit all the way at the top of its travel. Regardless of what spring you use when you adjust them back to the 7" height you will bring the problem back.

I think I answered part of this question in the 6" thread - he needs to lower the rear end a bit which will eliminate his need to crank up the front end to level the truck. The solution that is cheapest and makes the most sense for for performance too is to simply put a smaller block in the back then lower the front.
