Headstrong quoted me on the carrier bearing drop. I'll have to look and see what a center pin collar is.

I believe he has the Wheeler's Superbumps. Because he has huge wood.

Scott , I bought the d29xl Dakar AAL's because at some point I'm going to add 1/4" top plate spacers up front ( already have them too )

Are the lengthener's needed if you're not using axle shims?

No but they don't effect the leaf pack if they are in there and you don't need to tear everything apart later to add a slide in style axle shim if you add the collars at install time

You could leave out the overload and add the d29xl

Wheeler's told me the regular Dakar pack is only good for 2.25-2.5" on an unloaded truck, but that of course every truck is different.

Seems like that can't be the case. That would put me in no better of a situation than I am now, still ass low with minimal weight.

You guys able to chime in on that? Seems to go against all that I have read.

    There's a Dakar measurement thread

Saw that yesterday. I know what real numbers are looking like which is why 2.25/2.5 unloaded made little sense per Wheeler's.
Headstrong said most see 2.75/3 and I expect that.

Thanks for all the Dakar threads BTW. I have a good setup outlined and price quoted and will be pulling the trigger sooner than later.

Now that I have a 15 with the inexplictly stupid subtle curve on the tailgate that messes with the ability to shut a cap door squarely with secure seals agains dust and water...

    I remembered this.

But, I'm looking into the Relentless full tailgate reinforcement, which will have a similar effect on squaring up the top edge of the tailgate with the straight edge of my Leer XQ frameless glass door (I am really not a big fan of pushing in on each corner of the glass to get the latches to engage and get a seal), but reinforce the whole inside gate. I'm pretty sure I'm going this route, in aluminum.

Point of post: curious if you considered the Relentless full gate option, and if so, why did you go with just the gate cap from Voodoo?

Can't you adjust the cap back to get it to close ?

and full disclaimer , KB Voodoo offered me an early tailgate cap to try out and review at no cost

Oh I can get it to close, and I've adjusted the strikes, but it is a matter of getting it to close and actually create a flush seal along the entire length of the top of the gate. I put it down, it rests on the cap in the middle, then I just give a very gentle palm push at each corner (click). But this is kinda lame, and I don't want to use a 3-step process to close the fucking thing. Never had to do this on 1st gen with the straight gate FTMFW.

And GFY for free stuff. LOL.

The cap glass isn't curved though right ?
