    i got lucky with mine where i wasn't stuck in the middle of no where and wasn't a complete grenading of the 3rd ...still drove ok, just noisy and definitely didn't want to put full power to it after realizing where the noise was coming from.

    i noticed it on my way back from ouray...so it must have been something down there...

    only thing out of the ordinary was towing the expo trailer up and over engineer pass...which isn't a hard task..

    so i have no idea...

    maybe it was cracked before heading down there and that finished the job on the pinion
