they're remanufactured....they take the factory cores, clean up the splines, regrease and boot them with their boots...so the steel and main structure is factory strength, only loss is with the boots...

i got 97000 on my axles before i had my passenger side boots start to leak, haven't busted open, but are definitely leaking..CVJ states their boots are better than other aftermarket boots out there but all aftermarket boots are not as durable as the factory, but they are more flexible (factory uses a harder compound than aftermarket boots)..

the average life on these aftermarket boots run around 50k...these guys also warranty their axles, so if i bust one up somehow, i can bring it back to them for a new axle under warranty..

I was surprised that a toyota dealership recommended CVJ axles over a stock replacement. They must be good quality even with the reused parts. Definitely going to pick up 1 or 2 before moab.

Only thing id say to add with what BOB said would be their boots have less fins, which makes it less likely the fins touch. the less the fins touch the less chances u have that the fins wear and break open. I love mine.

And absolutely we recommend them. WE see them almsot everyday and they take great care of our customers. I as a tech always give the customer the option of reboot with oem parts or replace completely with CVJ. 98% of the time CVJ is chosen and never had a problem. LIke i said i love mine. I believe they are around 75 a piece...

 

yea they are 75/axle but he hooked me up with shop price (thanks jace), so idk what they normally run

they also offer an off-road silicone based boot for the inner boot, but with our lifts the application was not beneficial/necessary...

Seems like it he did a good job with the Trasharoo GB and I could use more CV's even though I have 2 spare OEM's currently not on the truck and am running the Cardone CV's which are holding up really well.

 

sweeet...sub'd for a spare shaft..hopefully he can work out some good deals

 

got the new axles in today. while it was up on the lift we also put in new coolant, tranny fluid and greased up the drive shafts...

unfortunately noticed that my lower ball joint is showing signs of old age and are now on the summer to-do list...

but the truck is approaching 99k on the odometer (really closer to 110k due to the larger diameter tires that have been on since 25k and no speedo recal), and the parts have been holding up very nicely i must say...

went ahead and got the allpoo ubolt kit...$49.99 isn't too bad and i doubt i'll have any issue with it...holding off on the bumps until i can take some flexing measurements, definitely not going through allpoo for those!...going to be getting some billies in the rear to replace the old ome's i have...thinking 5150s

yeah they look good. Is it an upgrade to get the boots you got? They look like they are for high angle?

 

they are comparable to stock...same # of fins and similar spacing..

the factory boots are a harder compound which leads to high average mileage life than these...but these still have an average life of 50k+ which is not bad...i got 100k+ actual miles out of these...

 

Right, I hear ya man. 110,xxx on mine and they are about to explode.
