    it was...

and i'm constantly impressed with the truck especially on trips like this...100+ off road miles in two days and handled everything beautifully..

from the coopers kicking serious ass, the FN wheels taking a beating  (more on this later), both the ARB and CBI bumpers proving their worth time and time again, both the icon front and toytec rear suspension handle what i do with ease...do need new bump stops though...fucking love the new CVT tent with the annex and overhang..makes cold camping comfortable being able to run a heater down below...addicted bed rack is holding strong and sturdy...having the Piranha dual battery is a great security while running accessories at camp...

always wish we could spend more time on trips like this...

not many things i'll be changing which is great as we will have a new project to start on this week :spy:

Im 100% sold on the cooper STT's because of cost per tire now. All i gotta do is convince the wife that i need to upgrade and sell the duratracs, plus get the pelfreybilt aluminum bumper on first because i dont wanna trim that thing to bits and then try and sell it. :)

awesome...you'll like them...i only had one issue with them cutting the sidewall on grizzly lake, but that was aired down below 13psi and pinched the sidewall between a rock and the wheel..small hole, but enough to leak

had a scary moment coming up black dragon canyon saturday and the tire held its own very well...marred up the wheel good and almost ripped the valve off, but the tire took it very well.. can't wait to see the video :D

and saw a lot of muddy areas on this trip and they did great...and they clear out great too  times i wish they didn't stick out past my fenders...gotta keep the windows closed in the mud or it'll clear from the tire into the cab :D

and  to see that pelfreybilt bumper!

building a reliable truck is key and i feel great with the build taking it back there...i try to keep the difficulties to a minimum to minimize the risk of breakage, but you never know...there were some desert spots where you look around and see zero water and no shelter hoping that nothing goes wrong out there :D definitely would not be fun getting out on foot and/or recovering a vehicle..

headlamp was good...takes a bit to get used to...i'm used to a dimming feature and one click it's off...has some serious light to it and the red cap is a great feature, thanks for getting that as well

Bob what do you use for navigating on trips like that? I've been thinking about when we take the kokpelli trail on the way to Moab and I haven't seen much for navigating the trail. I'd hate to take a wrong turn lol

i like the Nat Geo maps, http://www.natgeomaps.com/trailsillustrated

then do a lot of research prior..

some good spots for trip reports and other information

one of my recent favorites for Utah information

    http://www.risingsun4x4club.org/forum2/

just a few to get you going :D

you can also download an app for your phone called avenza maps and download maps of the area to your phone...if it's downloaded you don't need service...but if you do, it'll locate you within the map for better navigation..i know it works with iPhone and iPads dk about droid and windows systems though...
