some pics from couple weekends ago...

found out that while you're on a beach (more like the lake bed due to the low water)..sometimes a small mud puddle can be a sinkhole to china..

required me to dig my front passenger tire out in order to move anywhere
    [IMG]

got some help from my dog..

    didn't last too long though.

enlisted the help of a fellow tacoma from missouri who was on the beach fishing to grab some buddies to give me a pull back...my hole..you can see where my skids were resting
    [IMG]

learned to stay on the solid stuff haha

    maintenance and body work updates..

got my squeaky door fixed, hammered out some of the new dents and put some new TRD OR decals on to help cover up the dents on the bedsides

    squeaky door
after dealing with the squeaky door for a while, i started to analyze the noise more..loudest when the window was all the way down and about an inch up the noise went away...noise was a metal on metal sound that you'd notice hitting bumps or even going around turns.

original diagnosis was a broken door stay which would require a body shop to go in and fix the broken bracket..after the recent door damage, i was taking the panel off to bang the dent out anyway so i had a look...

a nut that holds the lower window track in place had came off...luckily when i took the door panel off, the nut fell straight down making it easy to find...tightened down and no squeak!!

    missing nut
    [IMG]

    how it should be
    [IMG]

and to help cover up some of the dents on the bedsides..had some sockmonkey decals to put on after touching up the body damage with some duplicolor..

    Nice wheeling pics bob.

I had a very similar lake bed stuck last winter in Vermont. Tried crossing a little dirt patch to get to some river stone and ended up sitting on my skids. Of course that was a day when my 4wd wasn't working...

Luckily I had my hi lift and was able to jack it up and fill the hole with rocks and make a little rock road to back out. That was about 2 hours wasted..

Never fun but alway such a great feeling when you get it back out. I want to get a set of Maxx traxx for situations like that or deep snow.

i f'in hate mud! such a pain in the a$$ when you get stuck and even if you don't get stuck, it takes forever to clean the truck afterwards haha..

max traxx looks sweet...the expedition videos (forget the exact name) sold me on them for deep snow...would be interested to see different mounting options for them with out trucks..

i wasn't lucky enough to have the hi-lift option work out..you can see at the very bottom of the pic a rock (actually one of two rocks that disappeared) that i tried to use to lift the front of the truck up to put rocks under the tires...the rocks just kept on sinking..the bottom of the two rocks is probably 2+ feet into the mud...after that failed, i had to resort to digging out the front wheel enough to slide rocks behind the wheel..dug out behind each of the other 3 wheels too, but they weren't nearly as bad as the passenger side was..
