I just saw his post that he was having trouble with his cams and such. Said he'd go OEM and maintain them better would be better

Yeah I checked that part as well while under there. No notches like yours have.

Phil I can hear the sound and I replayed the video multiple times looking at different parts and I can't see anything out of the norm. Gonna need to take it to a tech to look it over.

thanks eric, my plan of attack as it sits is to have brian look at it in a couple weeks after i installed the new UCA's and need an alignment and 295's mounted balanced :D

If i need to get new bushings this summer than so be it, ill deal with that when the time comes but yeah id love to actually have a tech look at it, i left the gopro mount on my frame just in case too, and can get another to mount in front tomorrow.

I wanna say this is the best plan of attack

bumping this to the last page

Ok, i am in need of some help. Im having some funky sounds coming from my front end suspension items.

Sound really started accuring after the gulches trip with some of you, i noticed it while on first parts of the trail where my suspension was cycling pretty heavily from side to side.

Since then ive been hearing the sound while hitting a water runoff dip in my neighborhood while turning, this morning i put a GoPro just above the cab mount and drove straight over the water runoff dip and then turned around and repeated 3 times.

    Sounds are at
:10 seconds (just before starting the truck)
1:22 seconds (hitting water runoff dip)
1:49 seconds (hitting water runoff dip)
2:16 seconds (hitting water runoff dip)

Anyone with insight its greatly appreciated!!

Not too sure about the last three, but look at the close end of you LCA at 0:10. It looks like it pops out or something when that clunk noise is heard. I watched at the other times (sounds like different noise) and it seems that your LCA moved a little at the same spot, but that may just be a coincidence.

Possibly a loose bolt or bad bushings? I dunno.

yeah the movement at :10sec is the most movement of the LCA close to the cab with the popping into place. That was just me getting back into the truck as well just before putting it into gear.

Im not convinced its my LCA bushings just yet either. Im going to mount a GoPro up front looking back on the UCA and see if i cant track down the noise to the UCA area.

I also posted this video in my build thread to try and keep my thoughts together over in that thread.

Video 2 looking at the UCA from the front fender wall looking towards the cab

(my initial thoughts were its coming from the LCA, but looking at this angle there seems to be a lot of body flex on that forward section of frame mounts) Lower left of video every time the noise happens. Frame mount bushings? who knows

    sounds at

cant really make out what kind of noise it is from a video pretty hard to diagnose it without seeing it

That's the thing, I can't recreate the noise unless driving, no rub marks showing, removed sway bar when installing the front bumper wondering if I need to put it back on?

Hey Phil I don't know if this will help or if you even tried doing this but try and cycle you axle. Basically put that side up on a jack stand and place a floor jack underneath your LCA and jack it up and down. See if you could recreate the sound. In the video you have a lot of moving parts. Try moving all the parts manually one at a time. Maybe you might find the noise. It's worth a try.

Edit maybe I should of read your pervious post before posting. I was just so into the vid. vvvv but Gramps brings up a good point about the bumper bolts.

Now that you bring up frame flex and that second video it sounds more like Aluminum. I bet it is those frame supports that came with the Pelfry bumper with that funky bolt going through the frame. I bet they aren't tight enough!!!!

I thought about frame flex but the GoPro was mounted to the underside of the wheel well and that was flexing and made it look like the frame was flexing, understand?

I'll try and tighten bolts all over the front end tomorrow though!! Thanks for the help fellas
