How thick is the plywood you used? Just wondering if the wood might break under the weight of the truck. Great job by the way and a solid idea.

3/4 inch plywood, my pops hasnt had a problem with his cracking yet. Ill ask him how many times he has used his. best thing is it was pretty much free since i had built the washer dryer counter top out of this same birch plywood :)

    how was slaughterhouse gulch?

tested out my hi lift jack base today, using 3/4 inch plywood it doesnt even budge, bow under the weight of the truck!! i put my base up on 2x4's just so i knew the entire load of the vehicle was pressing down on the wood base, so if it were to snap it would have done so in a safe manor :)

held up great and was free!! now time to paint the 2 pieces of wood black and seal the hell out of them with outdoor polyurethane and be done with it

Well, Phil is a little... special. He likes to be called handicapable regardless of whatever intellectual disadvantages he might have.

i only did this test on 2x4's for you to show that the plywood can handle a couple thousand pounds :)

i tried to build one for gramps but he denied the free gift :p

20x20 base will spread the load in soft dirt, sand, mud, or just be a more secure base for anytime use :)

Pelfreybilt Hi Lift mount installed this morning, very easy install. Measure out where you want your hi lift just under the C channel and drill the bed side, take the rear fender clips out to reach behind the fender wall and tighten down the nut onto the allen screw coming through the mount. I had to remove the rear cubby to get a good angle on the rear most mounting bracket. The finished product
