It doesn't show tranny temp does it? I know the ultra guage doesn't but I never thought to check the torque app... Tranny temp is the only thing I'm missing and would like... I imagine with my 4.88's my tranny is just fine though. haha

You can write in a code for it to read the tranny temp, on auto's only.
It's on the last few pages of AZ geek talk

No. Torque does. Torque just uses the pitch and roll sensors in your smart phone/tablet to gauge that. You just just download any pitch/roll app and use that as well. The only issue I find there is you have to lock your phone into place somewhere and then calibrate it on flat ground for it to be accurate. I usually just lay my phone in the cup holders so that doesn't really work out too well for me.

One or two things modded... Check out the build thread
I was under the impression that the reason scangauge nor ultragauge could show tranny temp was because the sensor that toyota puts in the tranny is simply a yes/no sensor and not an actual thermometer like for your coolant temp or so forth. so it merely throws out a warning if it gets too high but if not then it is switched off or something like that??? was i lied to?

i'm just adding an actual gauge for that. i don't always have my phone mounted, but it'd be nice to always see that info.

exactly. you can download any app that has those features. i just like that it's integrated to torque, so all i have to do is swipe my finger to get it to the next screen instead of opening aother app. I mount my phone right next to the screen for my cameras, so i have all of the info in one spot, and the phone is held nice and solid, so once it's calibrated, i get consistant, acurate readings.

I'm pretty sure the scanguage can. But I was cheap and didn't want to spend that much for a scanguage. There are ways to make a dash guage that reads tranny temp and I don't recall it involving the install of a temp sensor so I assume there is one in there already.

Every time I went to torque it down, it would flare the top out so that it didn't sit flush with the pillar. Who makes a mount with round holes when the handles have square inserts?

I dremeled the shit out of mine to get it to fit right and I am still not happy with it, but it is the only option for A-pillar mounting of gauges. I was expecting a 30 min install even with the dremel and I think I was out there for a couple hours running wires and making that thing fit okay. I live with it.

i've had a lot of practice with the dremel in the last week

dremel, gauge mount, running the wires down tho the floorboard, and bolting everything up took about 15 minutes. my biggest gripe with it is that that gauge holes were a little too snug couldn't even push the lower gauge in all of the way. had to wollow out the hole with a sanding wheel.

transfering pictures to my computer now.

all trimmed and fit with the gauges. you can see the notches i had to make in the handle holes as part of making it fit properly

already lots of wires in the a-pillar  2 power and 2 ground for the 6 roof lights, and the 3rd power and ground are lift over from my old roof rack when i had rear facing lights on the roof. i left the wires so i didn't have to rerun them if i ever needed more power up on the roof for any reason.

2 power harnesses, and the signal harness.

eventually i'd like to have afr, tranny temp, oil temp, and oil psi in the pillar and steering wheel pods, and then flush mount the volt gauge somewhere in the dash.

you find vacuum to be useful during daily use or wheeling?

The IT'S steering wheel pod was a nice setup. I never finished the vacuum gauge was one of the last things I worked on before I sold it.

Yes sir, It's a little hard on gas but that could also be the speed I drive. Makes towing easy I tend to forget I have a trailer with the power of the truck and trailer brakes.
