Good to know. Probably the only thing I really liked that you did (besides the sweet rack of course) was all the solar panel stuff. I don't really camp to take advantage of it but I plan on getting a tent and camping more often so that and a new battery would probably be on my list of stuff to do.

i'd go with a dual battery before the solar panels. I actually have a big deep cycle marine battery waiting to go in the bed as a second battery.......but like everything else, i just haven't had the time to get it in a hooked up.

makes for a smoooooooth ride :D

i'd imagine, with 35s on a manual without a crawler box.

after a lot of research, i'm pretty much set on 4.88s with 35s. on the 34s, stock gearing and auto tranny, stock gearing isn't bad for daily driving and crawling, but it's pretty terrible for towing and high speed wheeling.

I have question with this cause i need to do this bad. Did you have to buy anything else besides blue sea system fuse block.

not really, but it all depends on how far you want to take it. a lot of people buy/make a mount for it, but it takes up a lot of space, so i just mounted it on top of the existing box. some people wire in a breaker between the battery and box, but with fuses in the box, i just see that as an unneeded redundancy.

so without the "extras" that you may or may not prefer to have, all you need is (1) the box, (2) a heavy gauge cable to link the battery and box, (3) the connectors to tie your electronics to the box, and (4) fuses

thanks brudda. how was the maiden voyage with the new 35s?

Actually a fuse before the blue sea box is a good idea as they are only rated 100amps.

Granted if you know you'll never pull that much it's not needed. But if you for instance since you have the 12 slot one, you very well could get up to close to that depending on what you end up with and if you use all 12.

So it's not redundant. I'd rather do that then have e fuse box melt and burn the truck down..

12 slot is rated at 125 amps.

as long as the sum of the fuses in the box does not exceed the rated amperage, and your wiring is correct, you will not exceed the the capacity of the box.

that's why you won't find a breaker on the factory fuse box.

however, a breaker can't hurt if that's your preference. just have to size it properly. too large and it's pointless, and too small, and you may keep popping it while still within the safe operating limits of the box.

    exactly.

    Most wont need one.

    But it can't hurt either.
