    Made a big step and went from 08 white base 5lug regular cab 2.7L 5speed, with 34k miles to 05 Radiant Red Access Cab V6 PreRunner, with 119k miles, auto with TRD off Road package and tow package. My payment only went up $50/month from $256/month to $307/month. Shorter loan with smaller APR and I calculated that over the course of the loan I will save $1096. To me that was no brainer, just the TRD bucket seats, automatic transmission, rear locker, extra room in cab and tow hitch were worth the extra $50/month! One owner AZ only truck with NO rust and clean title.

    I have transferred few things from my 5lug to the new 6lug;

    - lockable bed storage compartment
    - tool box
    - shortened antenna

    Stuff I already did to the new Taco;

    - removed front mudflaps - previous owner cut them off at some point, so I just removed what was left of them
    - removed engine cover - useless piece of plastic!

    Already I have list of items to purchase;

    - hooks for drivers side floor mat - 0020600802 - $0.01 - installed got these at local dealer, they are giving these out for free!
    - center console net - Installed got one at the dealer for $10
    - cap for one of the hitch bolts on the rear bumper - the truck is missing it - Installed
    - in cabin air filter - $26.39

    Some subtle mods for the future;

    - DIY aux input for the 2005 single disc head unit - Done
    - Rear diff breather relocation - 90404-51026 - $3.31 - Done
    - power outlet in the cab running of the stock inverter
    - day time running lights

    That will be it for this truck. I don't want to mess with the suspension or lift the truck, I use the truck for work and if the truck would be any higher, it would get difficult to reach into the toolbox and get stuff in and out of the bed of the truck. Very happy with the purchase and happy to stay in the taco family!

    Pictures soon to come!

    There is enough room in the access cab for my 3 and half year old son to be in a car seat in the back and my wife still has enough room to sit up front!

    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    Shorty antenna.

    [IMG]

    Power outlet in bed, should be sufficient to charge batteries for my cordless tools.

    [IMG]

    Lockable bed storage compartment, so my ratcheting tie downs don't disappear.

    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    Diamond plate toolbox.

    [IMG]

    Tried the elocker :D The truck climbed this mound without any tire spin. My 5 lug didnt even go half way and started spinning one rear wheel.

    Congrats! I think the color is too dark to be Radiant Red though. I think you have an Impulse Red Pearl. If so, welcome to the club. :thumbsup:

    With 120k miles and used vehicle, the smart thing to do is to change all the fluids, spark plugs and filters. I checked the oil and it is nice goldish color, I confirmed with the dealer and they changed the oil and filter when they took the truck in. It doesn't have OEM Toyota oil filter, but it will be OK until the next oil change. Next oil change I will switch to Castrol Syntec 5w30 and OEM Toyota oil filter. Air filter is little dirty, but OK for now. I am not sure if I will get high performance filter or Intake... There is intake on ebay for $80 shipped very similar to K&N intake LINK --> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-0...ssories&fits=Model:Tacoma&hash=item4cf9375b00. I assume the only weak part is the filter, which can be easily changed...

    On saturday I am doing;

    - automatic transmission fluid change - using Toyota ATF WS
    - rear differential fluid change - using fully synthetic Castrol Syntec 75W-90
    - spark plug change - using OEM Toyota spark plugs
    - installing in cabin air filter - the truck didnt come with one

    Teaser pic!

    Spark plugs are done! Pretty easy stuff, old plugs didn't look horrible, just worn.

    Since I was already messing with my truck, I took off the charcoal filter as well.

    Intake with charcoal filter;

    Charcoal filter removed.

    Few more mods to the Taco!

    Picked up used OEM accessory skid plate on craigslist for $50! Couldn't pass this up. Even though its not the toughest skid out there for the light off roading I do it will do just fine. It looks the best out of all the skids available for the Tacoma and closes up the gap between the stock bumper and the OEM skid nicely...

    [IMG]

    I also did DIY AUX input. It works great! I found an awesome spot for it, its right above the knob which controls the speed of the HVAC fan. Its hardly noticeable...

    [IMG]

    Next on the list are 12V outlets in the cab, probably going to knock these down this weekend!

    Loving the V6 auto so far, VERY impressed with the engine's low end torque!

    I made it myself. I cut the stock one, smoothed the rough cut with angle grinder and painted it.

    There is no noticeable loss of reception which I would notice since I listen to radio a LOT. The benefit is not hitting tree branches with the stock height whip...lol

    Um... If you used the original diff breather, I don't think that will work, I believe the original diff breather only lets air out, but not in, so I think you will have to replace it with a filter to let air back in so water will not get sucked in through the seals.
    Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
