So I think this may be the cause of my metal on metal "clang" sound when shifting from 1st to 2nd...

I see a irregular vibration every now and then. Probably from the U-joints like you said the shop mentioned. As well as likely that carrier bearing. Three U-joints and a carrier bearing should make it nice and smooth again.

It's weird that the shutter seems more prominent at the T case. Is there anything major I should be worried about? I need to get a video of that gap at the 3rd member too. Unless you think its not an issue. I'm just trying to find out where the "clang" is coming from everytime it shifts from 1st to 2nd. They are very firm shifts, so I'm wondering if its just putting extra stress and force on something. Guess ill find out when it goes in and they check it all out. Ill have them look over the areas I think may be culprits, as well as the tranny and motor mounts.

I'll have to watch the video again. Bee thing I can say to do in the time being is to put a wrench on everything down there. From U-joints and suspension, to driveline. Just checking for anything that might have loosened up. Hopeful that you find something, and not something like the pinion bearing being worn.

Got ya. I have been meaning to do that, especially since I redid the front end. Guess I can try that tomorrow as well and see what happens. Thanks Tor.

    and some lighting..

just trying to get the truck to a point that i consistently enjoy it again.. and have learned from some mistakes and some things I would have done differently.
