Hey everybody, kind of a new member here, owned my 06 tacoma dc longbox for about a year and a half now. i've loved this truck since day one, i bought it because i found a good deal on it due to high miles but it was clean as could be and solid. i bought it with the intent of just using it for daily work/commute stuff so i could park my duramax, i've tried the car thing and hate it. i bought it in march of '10 and drove it for a few months then got hit by a drunk driver, the end result was damage all the way down the passenger side from front fender to the rear bedside. I got a check from the insurance which covered most of my investment in the truck but they didn't total it so i decided to invest in making this an all around play toy. i just recently started and got lucky when i found an arb bumper on the local classifieds for 300 bucks, and a decent toolbox for 50. i obviously picked em up then bought an xrc8 and some light force driving lights to mount on the bumper also. i just picked up an ome lift with the 886 coils and plan on getting an arb locker for the rear and additional lighting as well. from there i will install rock sliders and the list as we all know will go on and on. but so far here's what's been done. lemme know what you think and any suggestions you might have, i'm fairly new to the tacoma world so lemme know. thanks for looking!

Just finished the lift and put my wheels and tires on, 33x12.50 Mickey Thompson MTZ on pro comp 9047's. Like almost everything else I've put on I bought these off the local classifieds, I decided to make this my budget build so I've bought almost everything there including the bumper for 300$! It's been fun

I've been busy with my taco build, I live in south east Idaho do CBI is in my neighborhood. I decided to say to hell with bobbing the bed and do a flat bed style setup instead. Let me start by saying that Steve at CBI is top notch. This isn't my first rodeo with vehicle builds and I've never worked with anyone like steve he's unreal. My plan with the build is to be a very versatile offroad build, after the flat bed I plan to do ARb's front and rear then long or mid travel. I don't know which yet so give me your thoughts if you have any opinions. When doing the lockers I plan on doing gears also, as low as possible which would be 4.88's or? From there I will do a marlin crawl box so I have my work cut out for me, steve at CBI is also building skids for me so I will post pics of everything when possible and done. Thanks and please please give me your thoughts

Mounts for hi-lift, shovel, rotopax or jerry cans, fire extinguisher, antenna tabs, drop down for dual battery, spare tire mount, reverse light mount. Recessed rock lights. Recessed mount for jerry can or spare tire.

Maybe do a shackle flip kit while you're at it.

If you have a quad and it'll fit width wise maybe you could build something that will come out or up and support the rear tires.

Maybe some sort of fender over the rear tires that hangs off the flat bed.

Just ideas.

 

Plan on doing something with the shackles, already doing a hi lift mount and a spare tire carrier, looking for ideas on the rest, especially the spare battery mount, thanks a million maximillion! Lol keep em Rollin!!

 

Oh and I ride bikes so that went into the build, I can put 2 bikes in fairly easily. The rest that you mentioned I really like. I plan on doing something for mounting of all the other stuff (jerry cans, rear lights etc.) so I really appreciate your post it made me think of other things also maximillion!!
