Dec 17, 2011:
Well, here's a little background. ive been into offroading since i was just a wee squirt. dad has lots of vehicles, suzuki, lada, ford, toyota, jeep..so on. when i got my license i decide it was my turn. so i bought an 86 pickup. SAS it, drove the hell out of it out of it. loved that truck.
I then bought this 2006 Tacoma, DCLB. mainly for hauling the dirtbikes and going out camping.
But I still had the need to offroad on 4 wheels.....so i wheeled it. once, then again and again becuase i was very surprised with its stock capabilities. Then put 265/75/16's on it.
TACOMA = Jeep Tow truck
So thats the truck. Plans? We'll see where i take this truck. Ive only really got 2 ideas for an offroad rig. i will either do this truck up to my standards, or get an HDJ81
Chances are, i will use this truck. however, my goal is to keep it smooth and comfy on the road.
Here is a list of the equipment requirements for offroad:
Front plate bumper-check
rear plate bumper-check
At LEAST a rear locker. Front is optional. maybe try to find a rear axle from a TRD-OR. and do an ARB front.-CHECK!
Some sort of storage for things in the box/back. i have the cab mostly figured out. I have only 1 bottom seat back there.
