You don't need much. Either that or weld a larger bolt to a smaller bolt then hook everything up with ring terminals, it won't be pretty but it'd get the job done. Or something like that.

    Or buy this.

Theres similar stuff on ebay. distribution block.

"Disturbing" developments in my broken CV shaft situation.

The failure is due to a significant design flaw by All Pro. All Pro states that limit straps are not required. I beg to differ.

See the areas circled in red? This is where the shaft has been rubbing on edge of the inner tripod joint.

Every rotation of the shaft when the suspension is at full droop, the edge of the tripod joint is grinding on the cv shaft. The shaft is at such an angle that it is rubbing on the edge of the joint itself.

Look at this gif, the offending area of "rubbing" I have circled in red. (This gif isnt a tripod joint, but you get the idea).

Check out the other part of the broken shaft..

Here is a video showing that there are indeed 3 areas of rubbing on the shaft. Corrosponding marks on both ends of the shaft. Everything adds up again if you understand a "tripod" joint.

It is clearly rubbing pretty badly. It broke right in the middle of the section where the powdercoat is rubbed off. The entire unspring weight of the front suspension is hanging directly on the shaft. Damaging the shaft, and possibly even weaking the inner CV tripod joint. This is why you get more down travel when using 2wd.

In conclusion, I believe limit straps would solve this. Limiting the downtravel, therefore eliminating the rubbing between the axle shaft and the joint.

That doesn't look significant enough to have caused that shearing. I'm sure it contributed but sole cause???

Well considering it broke right there, I would really say that is the sole cause. if you look closely at the surface of the broken shaft, you can see it damaged the metal pretty deep. Keep in mind how much force there is on the CV shaft. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of pounds of torque. (after the gear reduction).

Just get the Blue sea box with a negative bus on it. Then it has a ground bus built in.

also check out the Bussman fuse/relay box if your planning on a bunch of lights. Puts 5 relays in a nice small foot print.

How long did you run the lowers before you realized that you did not install the inner sleeve bushing ..maybe that caused the so called over extension..

Here's my junk from about a month ago when I replaced both outer boots..you can see no signs of rubbing/scoring..
    At full droop..

Look up fatigue failures. Basically cyclical loading causes shafts to fail at loads much lower than you would expect. Its like bending a piece of metal back and forth.

mmm notch effect with some cyclical loading sounds like a cause for shaft failure to me

Neither am I, but I am a Mechanical engineer and spent plenty of time in the lab doing fatigue analysis on a rotating beam machine :D

Allpro is trying to deny my warranty. Saying I purposely damage the shaft.

I'm going to check inside the boot on the other side to see if it is also rubbing on the tripod.

The "tulip" should be worn as well from the shaft rubbing it.

The shafts are lifetime warranty so they said yes originally . Afte seeing how it rubbed(they think I caused that and now want to void the warranty. they're now rethinking that. It's their fault this is happening.
