One thing that I forgot to mention earlier about whichever aftermarket EMS you plan to use is this. Make sure it is capable of full sequential injector tuning for a 6 cylinder. Otherwise, if it is only full sequential for 4 cylinder, but semi-sequential for 6 cylinder, then you will be running batch fire for fueling.

That means that two injectors will fire at the same time versus one injector one cylinder. Makes it a little more complicated to tune, and burns more fuel. It is do-able though. Toon is running his Pro48 that way.

Another company to try, which is also based out of AU, is Map-Ecu. With their Map-ECU 3. Also, thank you for the pictures. You guys have someone with a bit more intelligence and common sense about them, running that region of Toyota.

Got an update from Darton East. My engine, unlike some more recent 1GR's, has all the bearings, is getting finishing touches on the girdle, and they are emailing Kelford again about the cams since they haven't had a response back in over a week.

    Slowly but surely.

Starting in 3rd huh? Is that new tranny that low geared or were you just having fun? You're still running 3.73's in the diffs right?

I fared a bit better than that.

It's not even so much the throttle response as it is the feel of the shifting coupled with the handling.

The rear trac bar and lowered suspension I feel were key to the overall performance experience.

Shifting from 2nd to 3rd is an absolute fucking wet dream in this ride.

I'd drive back to Houston again just to drive it once your "done";)

Nope. you can have "x" amount of power, weight, tires, etc and can still be in novice at MSRH. autocross, thats totally different. Turbo L28?

Hey Anthony! Was grest meanting you and putting a face with the screen name. That truck of yours is ridiculous cool. To you and everyone reading this, it might seem like what the heck is he talking about, but just riding over that speed bump in the parking lot was impressive. Couldn't even tell that it was there, with the combo of your suspension setup and tires. So I know that aspect of your rig did really well at MOAB. Even when I had that ProComp 6" lift, and 35's, I still felt the bump stops. Even more so now that I have a "sports truck."

Still 3.73's. With the gearing of the trans and tires, even as long as the gears are, it still moves quite well for N/A. The solid hubs in this twin disk do make it a bit difficult to get going in first gear though. So if he could start it in third, you have to tip your hat to him. Almost like starting 4th on the OEM trans. O_O

You make it back this way, or if I take a trip up that way to go to VIR when it is ready, you'll get your chance my friend.

Never setup a carb before actually. But I always said that if I did, I would always use an AFR gauge. Just makes sense.

For the second question, no. Doesnt matter the horsepower, but the track time, experience, and lap time/skill that you have. You'd still start in Novice.

No problems at all. There was a place that advertised about $60 cheaper for the same turbo, but with their shipping and handling, it was practically the same. Other performance shops actually use ATP as their source for turbos/parts as well.

One other place that I get stuff from is www.extremepsi.com.

That is the same size I purchased for her car. Being that hers is a little 2.0, just bolting it on and test driving, it was laggy compared to her factory one.

***Note*** Her Can'd ECU had increased the OEM boost and basically acted as a boost controller as well. Made the OEM turbo much more responsive than the OEM tuning did.

We installed my Greddy ProFec BII boost controller, and tuned it in. Holy shit! Works like a champ now. So much so that we had to turn down the boost from 19 psi to 15 psi. This thing flows way more.

Need a few more parts to finish off her car though, aside from internals. Injectors, intercooler, and Haltech EMS.

It certainly will. If anything, a cheap manual boost controller will do.

Her's can now spool by that time, if not sooner. And pulls like a raged demon.

During initial testing, we had the Can'd ecu controlling the OEM boost controller (it is now not used). Damn thing threw me back into the seat! But I saw the boost gauge show 24 psi, and started yelling, "WHOA WHOA WHOA!" for her to get out of it. Waaaaay to much power for the stock internals to hold for any length of time. Shit was mean though! Her eyes were huge with boost joy.

Hey Tor where did you plumb the vacuum hose from your fuel pressure regulator to when you had the OEM regulator?

Originally it goes to that little hose tail under the air filter box. Correct me if I'm wrong....but is this before the throttle body and will always be roughly at atmospheric pressure on a NA motor.

I'm not sure whether to go straight to the intake after the throttle body, then it would see vacuum and positive pressure or just vent it to atmosphere.

If you are trying to use the OEM FPR in the same manner as an aftermarket rising FPR, then it will need to be plumbed from somewhere after the throttle body.

There is a vacuum hose right after the throttle body. The close to the port behind the TB is best. Otherwise you will possibly get a pulsation from the solenoid, which is at the other end of that vacuum hose.

I used a vacuum block to help clean up the birds nest of vacuum lines I have. As it gets rather tricky and extensive.

Been having a problem with the mounts for the Addco rear sway bar. As good as the sway bar itself is, the mounting bracketry was rather cheaply designed. I had a feeling it would be some form of problematic, but not sure in which way.

I will take some pictures later to clarify. What is basically happening is that one of the brackets rotates on the axle. Toward the rear of the truck. This causes the sway bar to shift to one side a little. Sometimes having the bolt for the end link to rub against the leaf spring.

The solution was to either buy another set of Caltrac axle perches, and have those welded on so that the sway bars could be bolted to them. Or, to buy some plate and make my own mounts similar to the caltrac ones. Exept that this way they can be specifically tailored to match the sway bar's bushings' mounts.

Decided the best option was the plate option. Going to pick up some plate after work, and take it over to PowerFab on Wednesday for fabrication. Damn I need a welder! Lol

Get this buttoned up, then my truck will be ready for race day at MSR Houston!!! I am very excited about that. It has been a long time coming.

It will still be N/A, but that doesn't matter. Gives me a chance to better feel out my truck anyway.

Next mod after that will be a set of these.
