Decided I'd go ahead and create a build thread. It's not much but it works for now.

Currently has 214k and a blown head gasket. I don't have a current picture

    Purchased in June 2008
    2006 DCSB TRD Sport Prerunner
    32k miles

Closest picture I have of it being stock

Added grille guard and changed up the lights and siren (and a buddy sprayed my truck with mud while I was pulling another stuck buddy out, barely got my window up in time)
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1336985387.250378.jpg
Added billy 5100s at 2.5, Firestone Ride-Rite airbags, and gooseneck hitch

Bought some 18" rock star rims with Kelley safari 32" tires off a local guy (sorry about the blurry pictures, I was trying to crop out the trailers)

I have also brought my front billy's down to 0" and put OME 885 coils on (thanks to Brunes), remounted my fire extinguisher in the bed and received my dust lights. I still need to rewire all my lights to the new switch panel, wire my dust lights, wire my bed lights, order mount and wire a CB (cobra 75), paint my hood scoop and valence (and possibly my roof), order mount and wire a new siren, bed line interior and rocker panels, remove old pin stripes and TRD decals and replace with sockmonkey Retro's and TRD ZORT decals, and do a full detail to the truck.

Future plans include front (possibly relentless aluminum to save weight depending on what direction I take) and rear (high clearance) bumpers and sliders for armor. 4wd conversion is in the works with a adaptor plate so I can run my 2wd transmission with a FJ twin stick transfer case. I'm still debating on putting in the IFS 4wd parts or just dropping the money for a SAS. If I find a steal on the front IFS 4wd parts I'll go that direction for now. Either way it will also get a crawl box.
If I stay with the IFS it will get a snorkeled. If I go SAS it will get fiberglass fenders so I can keep it as close to the ground as possible and possibly a supercharger (I dout though).
Either way the rear axle will get swapped out for something stronger, front and rear lockers, and it will get skids for whatever parts need it. Those are the main plans. Lots of plans and they'll get done eventually.

Welded my BAMF sliders on a while back after they sat for over a year.

After we tack welded them on. Making sure the doors clear at full flex. 3e00bde304ef819a0ffaa7a6e78f412b_6599a88656149c9ac1b4fb863de8c8bfc067111d.jpga49108ca905d728bd924aec4fc61cd41_8bce9ad2fd3fca7ec3b5ffb54dc75e592b43e18d.jpg

Also took off the sway bar. Rides a lot better. Still handles great. A little bit more body roll but I still feel comfortable driving without it.

    200k
    Changed spark plugs.

    205k
    Number 6 cylinder misfire
Change all the spark plugs again.
    No more misfire

    212k
Radiator fluid started overflowing from the reservoir.
Brought it in to Toyota, thought it might be the head gasket. I was reading online about problems with the early 4.0l head gaskets.

Toyota said the water pump started puking water when they went to pressure test it. Let them change it so they could test it afterwards. $799. Said it was fixed and they head gasket was fine.

    214k
Drove it for a couple weeks and the problem started back up again but worse.
    Brought it back to Toyota.
After a complete day in the shop they tell me it's the radiator cap and they will have one in the next day.
End of next day they call me and tell me it's fixed again. And that head gasket still looks fine.
Go to pick it up and look at a truck they have on the lot that I like, they look at mine for a trade in. Overhear someone talking to the service department on speaker phone and the service department tells them it's fixed for now (what is that supposed to mean?). Anyways. They want way to much for the truck, so I leave and go to another dealership that I know a salesman at. They go to look at my truck and the other dealership took my registration out the truck.
Drive back to the dealership my truck was serviced at and get my registration walk back out to truck and smell radiator fluid. Pop the hood and sure enough the reservoir is overflowing again. Service department is closed for the weekend, so I drive home pissed off.

Bring the truck back in monday. Service writer starts an argument outside because I posted something on Facebook about it and they saw it. They take the truck back again.

Tuesday evening they call and said they pressure tested it and everything looked fine. Going to pressure test the block Wednesday.
Wednesday evening they call and say it the head gasket and I should replace the whole engine.

Not sure if I should even trust the dealership or if they don't want to actually find the problem and figure replacing the engine will fix it.

Currently debating between doing the head gasket job myself or bringing to a local shop and letting them test it and do the head gasket if necessary.
