Sounds more like an 11" or 14" on that truck to me? 18's seem quieter in my experience  :notsure:

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think for now I'm going to stick with the 18" and see how I like it. Worst case scenario is it doesn't have enough zoom for me and I have to sell it. I'd rather it be on the quieter side if I have to choose. What can I say, I'm old :anonymous:

After Jerry let me drive his truck with the 14" Magnaflow (thanks Jerry) I took the 18" back to Summit and swapped it for a 14". Eric helped me get it welded up and I'm digging the way it sounds! Also got my t-case skid and LCA skids installed with Eric's help. A pretty productive mod day and ready to rock and roll for Slickrock tomorrow. I'll photobomb after we get back.

Awesome truck, Matt. The Relentless armor is just sick, too (you do some great-looking work, Eric).

How much do you miss not being able to see out the back with your spare tire up there? Did you add anything to your side mirrors to make up for the lost visibility (didn't see anything in your list of mods)? I'm trying to plan for the future and come up with different bedrail / rack options; I like how it looks, just not sure how I'd like that giant blind spot right behind the truck.

It takes a little getting use to for sure but its not too bad. I have a backup camera which helps backing out in tight spots. Driving down the road, switching lanes to the right is a little blind but I try to stay aware of who's around me at all times and lean forward to get some extra visibility in the passenger mirror. It helps that I don't commute or drive in a bunch of traffic. If I lived in a major city and had to hit the freeway in rush hour it would be a PIA. I have the tire up top during the summer so I can fit my camping shit in the back, during the winter the tire will go back in the bed.

Well Slickrock was awesome as expected. We only saw a few other rigs at the beginning of the trail and the rest of the time we had the whole place to ourselves! Weather was awesome, not too hot, and at the end a thunderstorm rolled in as we were airing up and put on a nice light show. It took us right around 3 hours and that included a break by one of the streams and airing up at the end (a big difference from the ~8 hours it took us with 7-8 rigs last year).

The truck did great, first real trail run since stuffing 35s. I only noticeably rubbed twice and both times it sounded like it was the bottom of the fender flair so no big deal. I did post up on my diff once but it looks to be ok

All in all it was a great time, I already want to go back :p

Here are a bunch of poser pics. Eric's gf took a bunch of action shots that he is supposed to post up :playball: :D
