So a bunch of you dudes asked for a build thread, so here it is as I can remember it. I bought it when I was stationed in Germany (Army) and before it got there I already had a pile of parts waiting for it. Initially, I had Icon coilovers and deaver AAL's with TC UCA's.
    DSC01016_11af7f236e92026c6a641498208b71075f9e668b.jpg
Then I beat on it a little.
    DSC01040_77263ce7de25578cdfd8325d3592cb90443ad82e.jpg
Put on some Timbren bump stops all around.
    DSC02800Medium_83893a0e90b1eb90a85c61062d483b0bfd4522b9.jpg
    DSC02807Medium_de50cba225d44f681b16988bdc7a94672e700b24.jpg

    Fried up some driveway sliders-
    DSC03011Medium_acaf30cdc1e709e14e8c74884c27519bba8acc00.jpg

Beat on it some and figured out timbrens are not real bump stops.
    jump22_a3e49af41de9f84993c21d456c1926eb9c5e0ca8.jpg

Put on some chubbies aka lightracing jounce shocks--
    DSC00665Medium_6bf3825d23a53ccea1778ab20bdc34cb4a829940.jpg

    Beat on it some more.
    3_c615f0290681e72a360bfd8d3c873ba34d5a81f3.jpg

Fried up a new rear bumper-
    DSC00891Medium_b49e3bd47ecc6c15eb90044e84fd1679c47423e4.jpg

    It worked ok.
    DSC01101_49f8380f6789bb3a97b019c208354a539ae57fb2.jpg

Welded more crap to the front bumper-
    DSC01134_e856a48cbd3ab657524a22fd304714e7c434c629.jpg

    LCA skids-
    DSC01171_0c8d8dc2f8de2b0dda8bf95cdfaa6f3b964a7d7f.jpg

Then I got orders to California. I would rather do two tours in trashcanistan than one in that messed up state. I saw more bodies in Barstow than I did on my first deployment. Anywho, I bought this pile while the taco was floating around the globe.
    DSC01914_c2d7ae0a8081fc1bd3d8f0a183bcdbe4c2ddfcca.jpg

Then I went to my first desert race...

I ran into some dbag named Brock and went on a run or two with him when my taco finally got to socal. Then I got to take the $10,000 ride in his truck and knew that LT was the only way to go.
    DSC02867_1a627d34c3b5b6a172dcfa11ca0b9fc045ae2ed8.jpg
After going on the Miller jeep trail run with an LT 4wd that was it, I started looking for parts after that weekend. That truck did very well in the rocks, and it was fast!
    DSC02920_f59799b617a17f631241e5661d982170e8826472.jpg

Then I stumbled onto a used TC kit and snatched it up. The coilovers are LT Icons and one of the first sets out there.

    DSC03763_744760853aef12a132dd020d09f449b1599742a6.jpg

The motor mounts broke somewhere in there-

    DSC03824_a593ffd2e79b9a5b23479ca9901b5cabdc6713ff.jpg

I think I just had a deaver 10 pack at that point.

    DSC04080_46e725d5f9a842811a364cb0ef07dd60c1e804b3.jpg

Then I went to the offroad expo and talked to some dude's from Radflo who hooked up the rear with 18" stroke triple bypass 3.0's and some 4" stroke bumps.
    008_8174f477781768794885113067453d8f44e76b23.jpg

I read in some racecar chassis design book that triangles are the strongest geometric shape, so I built some triangles.
    DSC04160_83ad4184534ea48c785506112d7e28daf4fffe22.jpg

I also put on some deaver H70's spring under hung off of TC 12" shackles. I had to undovetail the frame, but I made it happen.
    DSC04175_14d24d838db89e967f1c5a39217badfb661999b2.jpg

Then it cornered like it was on rails.

That bumper sure did look dorky, but it saved my arse a couple times.

I figured I better build a cage because I was starting to hit triple digit speeds in place that with my old setup I could only do 30.

Picked up some rear glass from Kartek-

Mounted a couple optima's between the spares-

    Got some kings up front-

    Did an engine cage-

Met this dude and liked the stance of his truck a lot. That got the hamster on the wheel...

I decided to get some real beadlocks and move up to 37's
    DSC06895_11991ed31cc16fa80e77e8726050956f6e9f7feb.jpg

Threw some fancy rotors on with Porterfield Racing carbon kevlar pads. They will stop you faster than a clean sliding glass door.

    ad5daeba_e041b05d3d2620246d7f2a220e4dd8c0dd9b37c3.jpg

I also installed 4.88 gears and an ARB locker up front.

    805f87ed_b60444dc98902135b8c7099f42bdd6f6fe5e628c.jpg
Then I got tired of doing push ups and decided to move back home to Oregon and go be a fat hairy civilian.
    3427dcdd_14609cba4d30aa0c2795626f4fd669d77f85bb16.jpg
I guess I got old or something, because I'm tired of ripping around the desert full throttle all the time and just want to cruise around the woods looking for critters and gold nuggets and stuff. The build continues...
Oh yeah, I prototyped some hand made ceramic plates wrapped in kevlar finished in carbon/kevlar and soundproofed the interior while I was at it.

If he would have never taken me for a ride in his truck I would still be rolling around with a stock taco. He warned me too, and it wasn't until much later that I realized the $10,000 ride wasn't a joke, lol.

Fiberglass fenders come in white and I didn't want my truck to look like a panda bear so I gave them a coat of bedliner. That worked pretty good, so I did the whole truck and then laid down a coat of martin senour industrial flat black equipment paint over that to keep it from fading.

No, I'm a doppler radar nerd for the National Weather Service now, but I spent 10 years in the Army as a missile dude and used DARPA products. If this was DARPA it would be way cooler. Like remote controlled with a UAV launching platform on the back and missile pods all over it lol. Alas, I'm restrained to using conventional weapons against the onslaught of the ferocious Eastern Oregon ground squirrel.
