RECARO Edition 2012 Tacoma

My 2012 Tacoma SR5 X-cab long bed had a stock set of what I think are the least suppoortive seats I have ever sat in. SOOOOO this was THE $olution..

I first removed the stock seats and tossed them in a pile(just kidding...)

Installed Wedge Industries Seat Mounts

I then installed the new seats(unbelievable difference!)
Why can't Toyota build a nice supportive seat?
The shop I worked with(Griffin Motorwerke in Berkeley, Ca.) told me that Totota keeps them in business. "Toyota builds great dependable cars but can't for the life of them build a supportive seat".

I also bought some matching yardage and got rid of the plastic feel arm rests. I recovered the center console and the door arm rests as well as installed a pad to give the side of my left knee a rest from the protruding edge of the door panel at the side of the window switches.

Conclusion:

The truck is now a great place to spend time on a long road trip.
It also GREATLY helps when off roading. The huge side bolsters on the seats really hold you in place when the truck rocks from side to side when working your way through rough terrain.

I also find the grey trimmed interior hard to keep looking good so I began the task of changing it out to black. Threshold plates for now and kick panels nex weekend.

Nice work.

Toyota puts in good seats. Mine(TRD) are awesome. These aren't sports cars though so super supportive seats aren't needed.

Somehow I knew that you would be the frst to piss on my thread.
There is a reason why sports cars, Race cars and race trucks have super supportive seats(hello,.... Mc Fly!)

Piss on your thread? I complimented your work and explained why such seats are not included in such vehicles. Please highlight the areas showing my pissing.

The seats in my 05 TRD are worse than the seats that were in my 09 SR5 and those sucked as well... kills my back on anything over a hour

Very nice looking seat.

I havent wanted to give up the side air bags, I know Ricaro has SAB on one seat but it is very expensive.

And I dont think he was pissing on your thread. I have had the 2 tacoma style seats and find the sport version better then the SR5. But I still drive 25k a year in the SR5 seat.

I would never be jealous of a post count.
Please accept my appology if pissing was not the intent.

Nice work.......My 08 seats are not the best but def not the worst IMO. But If I came across a good deal on some sick seats that matched.....I would do it. The long rides def work on my back a little even if I play with the lumbar support.

Looks good.
