Soooooooo I have been on here for a month or two and figured I should start one of these... So here goes!

I have owned Toyota's in the past (sadly all have gone the way of the junk yard) and most recently I owned a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I loved my Jeep, but was seriously pissed off with Chrylser's cheap ass Transmission/T-case/suspension.

So faced with $6k in "repairs" and after much deliberation I traded my Heep in for a Used '08 Silver TRD-OR Access Cab, 6Spd Manual Tranny, 4x4 Fun box!

    Current Pic...

Here is a pic of my Heep...

Thanks to Hitmans.army I was able to pick up an ELITE front bumper for a screaming deal. I just drove over to his place and we Swapped front ends in just under 40 min. On my way home I stopped at a Home Derpot and picked up some fresh Grade 8 hardware for the side supports. This thing looks SWEET!

I got some OME886's and OME Nitro-Sport struts installed today. Provided about a half inch more lift than the 5100's @2.5inches. Even with a bit of added stiffness, I now have a much better range of motion.

Sooo Last week I finally got off my Ass and started painting my rims. Here are some pics of the following shenanigans.

Basically just propped the truck up on Jack stands in my Garage (leaving space to close it).

Only did two rims at a time due to time constraints... Here they are cleaned and ready for prep. Why is it that Prep aleways takes two or three times as long as painting?

Here is a pic after a coat of two. After some previous discussions (with Aw9d) I decided I would try something different. We used Rattle can "Truck Bedliner" by Rustoleum. These pics don't really do it any justice. The texture makes it look AWESOME.

While waiting for coats to dry my roomate turned to me and said "dude, WTF is with that chrome grill. How hard is it to take that thing off the truck?!!" Soooo we decided to just paint the grill too. With the same Truck bed Liner.

Here is a pic from the front end... Sorry the quality is kinda crappy.

I left the center caps Silver because I have some Cool centercap stickers in the works. Big shout-out to SOCKMONKEY! Pics of those ASAP.

At this point I am really liking the Silver/black combinations I have going on. I might do the BHLM in the near future. Although I will probably just replace the housings, since they are cracked.

Jonesn13, what do you think of the bedliner on your grill? It looks good, just wondering how much dirt it will pick up. Had Line-X in my '91 toyota and after it got dirty, it remained that way. If you don't mind, go drive it around in the dust and report back how well it cleans off.:D Your truck is looking really nice.

Wellll In a day or two, I can let you know.

I was in Sedona this last weekend to test out the truck. With all of the rain we got recently it certainly collected some of the famous red dirt... Once I get it washed, I will let you know. :D

    20130127_193906_df9589963337eb31181af19e8aac295c6a8b993f.jpg

What I can tell you is that for some reason (most likely the humid conditions when it was painted), the grill is already showing signs of rock chipping. I don't know if it had enough time to cure, or not enough coats, but I am going to have to re-spray in the near future.

The Rustoleum bedliner works great with little prep work at all! All I did was use 800 grit sand paper, clean my bed rails with rubbing alcohol, and spray away. How many coats did you put on your grill? I think I put 4 thick coats on my bed rails and I don't think it's ever going to come off! :)

Meh, maybe 3. but we really didn't prep it unfortunately. It was a half-assed plan at the end of a six pack.

No worries. I can strip it, sand it and repaint it pretty quickly now that I am comfortable with the stuff.

Oh haha completely understandable then! I'm waiting to see if it fades or not, if it doesn't I'm probably going to use it on my bumpers and lower quarter of my cab.
