I think that rear hanger bracket could be a niche item...one that I might need in the coming future when I do a spring swap

BTW, the flatbed and spring swap are killer, very tasteful and thought out, I like it.

Yes, but they're not extended enough. I had all of the mounts unhooked when I flexed it out. Took measurements and will order new lines.

How many inches extra do you need with that droop?

What's the stock length. I figure a 33-36" line will be long enough. I had more droop than what's shown, but I ran out of ramp. A handrail got in the way.

I was hoping you would know :p

The guy on here that sells the nice braided brake lines said to just tell him how much longer you need them. I'm sure 36 inches would work for him too though

Edit: I ask because I want to do the swap too and it would make life easier to have everything ready ahead of time.

Shocks are gonna limit a bit of that travel if you don't run em inboard

I'm talking with that guy about new lines as well. Just give him a total length and he'll make them. I'll be the guinea pig and see how 36" lines work out.

Ooohh I see what you mean. I hadn't even thought of that.
mounting the top of the shocks closer to the diff so they are on an angle like this /\

Right. I have seen some people with the shocks actually mounted to the top of the diff itself...that's why I ask

We'll see about that. The current plan is to position the top of the each shock aft of the axle attached to the bed. I'm going to break out the forklift and flex out the rear to confirm that I'll clear the frame and the tires. I have a new set of wheels that will help me push the tire further out. I might have to resort to a 3/4" spacer to keep things spaced out.

Once I get the full swap done I'll compile the whole thing into one post and put a link in the OP.

A lot of the first gen guys mount their shocks inboard to get the max droop using a shorter shock. Since I'm running a lot of weight out back I'm going to put my shocks to as close to vertical as possible to help with dampening.

Yeah, there won't be any retarded shock mounting to the diff. :D

On another note I just ordered the shock mounts and other stuff I'll need from ruffstuff. I'll be taking more measurements over the next couple of days to determine shock lengths and brake line lengths.

Woot. I guess you won't be ordering shocks until the mounting spot is confirmed so you can get measurements?
