I took the Roto Pax Universal mount for the Tacoma bed rails and mounted the power tank bracket to it. It holds steady and is easily removable with 1 allen bolt.

Congrats! Your Ride report was great for describing the higher speeds on washboard surfaces and leaving the bigger trucks for dead... that's what is going to cost me $$$ so I can have that difference.

how is the ride quality versus the factory ride???

 

The Ride quality is much better. Not as supple on small bumps but on turns there is no mushy lean nice and on the high way it is nice, smooth and firm!

 

Did you have to cab mount chop for those 33's. I really want some but they will only yield about 1.5 ".

I want the 33's too, those are the stock tires / rims. 265/70/16

Sorry, thought that was directed to me!

 

Stock 265/70/16 are like 30.4" Fit's stock
265/75/16 are like 31.6" Fit's stock without a lift
285/75/16 are like 32.8" and requires a cab mount chop, weld seem pounded and a lift and might require spacers.
255/85/16 are like 33.3-33.5 for BFG KM2 or Toyo MT and require 2.5-3" lift I've been told that the 2012 don't seem to need the cab mount chop with these pizza cutters which is what I'm going to and shouldn't require spacers.

I'll be ordering Toyo MT 255/85/16 soon after my lift gets installed in the next two weeks and my rims come back from powdercoat and will be able to tell you or show.

Going over 33" seemed like it required fiberglass fenders

 

so would you say well worth the $$$? and what lift do you have it set at currently in those pics??

 

As I have nothing to compare other than stock, all I can say is it is leaps and bounds better. I am not sure what it is set to honestly but I think it is the default from icon for the Tacoma. I can measure threads on CO's to be sure and get back. Look at my first pic and you can see the top of the shock and threads exposed.

Great build it takes guts to throw on some new suspension to a really new truck. Subd i want to see those 255/85s on there i havent seen a lot of those around. Nice truck!

285/55/16's and a bunch of other goodies since you last saw it.

 

Fine truck with tasteful mods. Mine is similar. Now looking for a set of 255/85 tires as you know.....
