WOOT!!! Got some TC UCAs from member HolyReptar tonight! Gonna start the install tomorrow. Can't wait! I'll post pics of the progress and before/after pics. Also will be installing some OME 887 coils. Dropping the adjustable coil seat on the 5100s to 0 and using the 887s. Hopefully it still gives as much lift as it has with stock coils set at the highest seat setting.

Here's a pic of them after I cleaned them up a little. Some pics of a blown out bushing too. I guess that's what happens when you grease them too much.

Got the UCAs and 887s installed. The install went pretty smoothly. The only real problem I had was getting the passenger UCA bolt out. Had to put a socket extension in there and beat it out. Otherwise it was super easy. The 887s feel much better than the stock coils preloaded like they were. Quite a bit of settling to do on then but so far so good!

so, after I installed the UCAs I took the truck out for a test drive and everything is fine but I noticed something which made me think. With the TC UCAs, when I'd take a turn kinda fast I noticed some tire screeching from the tires on the inside of the turn. With the stock UCAs, when I'd make a turn sort of on the fast side, it was quiet and I never heard any screeching.

Anyone else have this issue? I would have assumed with the improved articulation of the new UCAs this shouldn't be occurring...or maybe because of the improved articulation the UCAs on the outside of the turn get better flex thus causing less weight on the inside of the turn thereby reducing traction? hmmmmmmm... :notsure:

I have not yet. I'm planning to go sometime this week. I hadn't thought about that but hopefully it goes away after an alignment.

Hahaha, I wasn't really paying attention to what that hand was doing and just trying to keep the phone steady. But yeah.... Way too much screen time for that part. :D

Finally got to install my power distribution center. Mounting plate was purchased from member Ze(Yotamac). Kept with the red and black theme. Eventually gonna paint the plastic engine cover to match. Install came out pretty clean. Set it at a slight angle so any water that gets on it will roll off and won't just sit there on the plate. Still gotta put on some wire clamps to hold everything in place. Eventually I'll have to upgrade the power and ground wires to account for the 180A breaker that I used. But for now I don't draw enough with the few lights I have. When I do the stereo system I'll also upgrade the power wires and alternator.

Left just enough room for the brake fluid reservoir.

Wow!! What a difference in the ride quality with the TC UCAs and OME 887 coils over stock! Glad I brought it out to Gorman this weekend instead of taking the 4Runner. Only thing missing is rear leafs...I definitely need some to complete this setup. These stock leafs are pretty flat and this is basically with no load. Maybe 50lbs worth.

Why did you go with 887's? Aren't they stiff since there is no weight up front

The 887s are the same spring rate as the 885 just longer. They ride great IMO! I got the 887s so I can be full lift height without having to use the step rings on the 5100s to get rid of the coil preload.
